Eric was great to work with and got our hole patched quickly without any issues. He's a professional who knows plaster and 100-year-old houses. I'm keeping his number on standby for any future plastering needs.

We hired Eric to do some needed repairs on a 150 year old house which is being fixed up for sale. The house has plaster and lath throughout - the old kind with horse hair.
Eric initially bid on the repairs based on the pictures I sent via Thumbtack. These were the worst areas needing fixing but I was hoping for more. Eric and his team did not disappoint. They did an amazing job on the serious damage (e.g., ceiling caving in, water damage from old leaks, plaster coming down and stress cracks). They went beyond this, however, and fixed numerous other cracks and damage of varying degrees.
The bedroom which had part of its ceiling start caving in looks brand new -- probably the best it's looked in 100 years. The living room which had water damage (with 10.5 foot ceilings) looks new. The chimney which had paint bubbling due to moisture leaking down the brickwork looks great. And I could go on.
The whole crew (Eric, Gary, Mick and Micah) was friendly, professional and proficient. Eric has previous telecom experience and is fun to talk to. He also knows a lot about plastering, which was his family's business.
What probably set Eric apart the most from other plasterers who came and looked at the job was his excellent judgement and sense of what's appropriate for each situation. He used the right tool for each job, keeping costs down while producing excellent results. His final cost was a fraction of what other plasterers had warned me to expect.
I would heartily recommend Eric and his team for any plastering work you need to have done.

Hired Eric and his team to fix a wall that had been damaged by water. Quick to quote, quick to get in, about $500 cheaper than other quotes I had gotten. Looks good, will look great once I get it repainted.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We bid by the job not really by the hour. So what I do is assess the parameters of the job and give a lump sum price.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually have my office manager set up and appointment to come see the job. Sometimes I'll look at jobs when I'm in the area working on another project. Other times it may be in the evening or every other Saturday afternoon.
If it's a small project you can send pictures. It's best to have several photos from different angles and close up and back away about 10 feet or more to get a good handle on what is going on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been doing this since I was kid. My father was a plasterer and he taught me growing up how to do this trade. All those decades add up to knowledge and an exceptional skill level.
