I am extremely impressed with Holderman Construction. I recently hired this company for a project that involved several components, both indoor and exterior components, and I was completely satisifed with the results of every single component. I’ll go into the details in a minute, but among the highlights of working with this company were the excellent communication and feedback, the punctuality, great professionalism, and above all, the incredible attention to detail and high work quality, along with an excellent value - these guys put a lot of labor into my project at more than a fair price. And they were extremely easy to work with. My project lasted 4 days and they were great to interact with every single day, and did quality work every day. They were polite, friendly, and clean. They even removed their shoes, and did an outstanding job with post-project cleanup. The main interior project was bathroom remodeling of cabinets. We had attempted previously to have someone use color stain to re-stain our cabinets and trim, and we just never liked the results. So this project was starting to add up in cost, with a readily we didn’t really like. Ray (the primary/owner) and Aaron (one of his main partners) did an absolutely outstanding job on the bathroom cabinets. They fully sanded all the drawers and doors down so that the previous and original stains/polyurethane were completely removed before applying the color stain again. That was a critical component, because in the end, the color stain ended up looking terrific - even better than I’d hoped it would look. My expectation of how they should look when completed came from the swatches of the particular color I selected (rustic grey) for the color stain I’d purchased. We realized that the previous application of that same stain, we weren’t really seeing the wood come through the stain, but instead the previous (original) stain, becuase it hadn’t been fully removed. In the end, the cabinets and trim looked BETTER than that expectation! Ray and Aaron really hit it out of the park on this one. And when they were done with the sanding and staining, they cleaned up really well from the dust and there was very little lingering chemical smell from the stain. Awesome! I also had them fix some lingering plumbing problems that had frustrated me because a previous contractor was not able to resolve them. Not Holderman Construction - fixed them both for good. The remaining components of my project were wood rot repair and storm door installation. I really loved what they did with both of these tasks. Seems straightforward but there is the materials aspect - which product, wood or vinyl, etc. There was an odd complexity to the back door wood rot that introduced a potential obstacle but Ray and Aaron were able to find a solution and overcome it by finding the right type of wood at the right thickness (original builder apparently chose an unorthodox door and window frame thickness for SOME but not all of my windows and doors). They repaired the wood rot and painted over it and it looks great and is of course no longer rotted. But the real bonus for me was that in the process, Ray managed to correct an incredibly vexing problem with the main back door in front of the storm door - it was not level, and leaking a TON, and I mean a TON of air through the bottom and the sides. I didn’t go into the storm door installation with any expectation of improving the air flow issue for that door, but that’s what I ended up with. An almost complete remediation of that problem. I am absolutely thrilled with the back door now. It closes properly, it’s level, and virtually no air coming in! That’s only been bothering us for 15 years now. On top of that, several other contractors tried, but ultimately failed, to resolve that issue with the door. And come to think of it, at least one if not two previous contractors told me they’d fixed wood rot issues that they really did not fix. Well, they’re fixed now, becuase Holderman Construction fixed them CORRECTLY. Ray is highly attentive to detail, does quality work, at a more than fair price. You can tell he knows what he’s doing. And I can say the same for Aaron, his partner. I really enjoyed working with them, and not only would I hire Holderman Construction again, but I’m sure right now that I WILL hire them again for other projects I have waiting. I highly recommend them.
Tile work, finish drywall work, framing work. Tyler did a great job on the work. Competitive prices and great craftsmanship.
I really like that you have done for me in the past and now in the present. Don has fixed my floor and some plumbing.
Excellent follow through, good communication.
Doug has been doing work for me for over 20 years, from garage building, decks, repairs, to full house reconstruction, which he just completed. The building was completely gutted, he added on about 1000sq. feet, than new plumbing, electrical, roof, siding and decks, now we have a beautiful 3 bedroom, 3 bath home. There has never been a problem with Doug's work, if you don't like something he makes it right, if you want a task that might be different or difficult to do, Doug will find a way and it is always top notch. About 15 years ago we had a water pipe break in the attic, busted threw the ceiling, water everywhere, complete disaster and we were leaving early in the morning for a vacation. Doug came over immediately, took full control of the situation and I trusted him to make all the right decisions, and he did, we returned 2 weeks later, job done and you would not know it had even happen, no mess, everything in perfect order. He is a man of his word and a hand shake you can trust.
He takes something old and worn down and turns it into something beautiful and new. He does what he says he is going to do. He is honest and a very hard worker.
Tim, did a awesome job remodeling my bathroom. This was a complete gut job down to the floor joints. Bathroom remodeling consisted of new floor, porcelain tile, tub, toilet, vanity, mirror, lighting, dry-wall, textured walls, paint, trim. Tim, was very reasonable in his labor cost and I believe he can work within any ones budget given him. I was so grateful of the job well done I also had Tim do my kitchen. Kitchen consisted of laying porcelain tile, ceiling fan, baseboard, which again Tim did an awesome job. I would hire Tim back in a heartbeat for any future projects.
Fordyce plumbing is my go to provider for plumbing and electrical services. Jason is knowledgeable and professional. He does great work at a fair price.
Rob came into my home to help me find a "mystery leak" where we have our water heater and washer. He confirmed that water was leaking from the water heater and he recommended it needed to be replaced. He said the normal live span of a water heater was about 8-12 years and our old one was installed in 2001 (15 years). He recommended a 50 gallon tank (instead of another 40 gallon tank like the one we had) because he could give a better price and it would provide more hot water (win/win :-). He returned with the new 50-gallon tank and quickly go it installed and running in my home without issue. I liked the fact that he took the time to lay down fresh cardboard sheets on our floors leading from the front door to the water heater to prevent tracking in dirt from outside or dripping water upon removal of the old water heater. I will use Rob again for any plumbing issues I have in the future.
I have used Molthan Construction for years... New roof, remodeled entrance way, deck work, bathroom repairs (faucets, commode and cabinet work), Painting, lighting fixtures, new doors & trim work (even installed a dutch door he made for me), carpet installation and snow removal. Any time we have a problem I call Brandon and he answers our needs. I have never had a problem with the quality of work they have provided and I must add that the cost was well below other estimates for the same projects. I am at an age where I can no longer do a lot of the things I normally would have done for myself years ago and he has never turned me down when I needed him. Brandon is friendly, loyal and honest... This alone is enough for me to recommend to any individual or business.
Brian showed up within an hour of my posting on Thumbtack. He as quick to evaluate the problem, quoted a fair price and began work the very next day. His knowledge and quality of work completed are professional and I would highly recommend him.
I left this rating because he is very through and is willing to work with you and do the best he can. The only thing that has been working against him and working for me is this crappy weather. Otherwise he would be probably outstanding. Will let you know once my projects are completed.
