Just go and sit down with the photographer and ask all the questions that you can think of and then I find it is a good idea to ask what other things should I be asking. You can usually tell from this meeting that the photographer has a good personality and would be likely to be easy to work with. The main thing you want to be clear about is the fact that the photographer is working for you and to please you and not themselves. Best wishes.
