Outstanding! Very impressed.Professional, Nice, Knowledgeable, thorough, reliable, owner/operated. I needed 11 partial ivories replaced, pedals installed, tuned. Gave quote online and stuck with it. Didn't charge me more later or tell me he had to come out to decide how much. I called and owner himself answered the phone and all my questions, set appt. While here he wasn't watching the clock he spent time teaching me about my old grand and making sure everything was operational, made several small repairs and helped me put on the pedals. Took it all apart and really cleaned it well. He had forgot to bring the ivories so he took the whole key action home, before he left we agreed he would also reshape the hammers. The next day it was done perfectly. Tuned the old fashioned way with a fork, had a digital he didn't use. Sounds great he went above and beyond and beyond. If you want it done really right call kim. He was running behind both days but called right at time of appt.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

Being a musician myself, I thought it shouldn't be too difficult for me to learn how to tune my own piano. After two years of tuning my own, the U.S. Army in the Republic of Panama hired me to tune the pianos in Army chapels and recreational centers. Others found out about my work and hired me to tune in their homes and it grew from there.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for a piano technician that is a member of the Piano Technicians Guild (PTG). Also look for a tuner that is also a technician that fix/repair parts as needed.
