I am sorry that I could not get to your project immediately like you required. I submitted the offer for services a month ago and since then, prior to you contacting me, I signed 2 contracts with homeowners. I am extremely proud of the personal and professional service that I provide to my customers, as evidenced by my references. In fact, I have been in business for over 15 years and existed solely on word of mouth advertisement and repeat customers. As you know, sometimes in construction the unforeseen can happen. For example, if you are completing an addition and upon tying in the new roof line with the existing roof line, you find rot and shingles that need replaced, you must address the issue. Such is the case on my current project as I discussed with you in our last phone conversation. I could not simply leave a customer's house exposed to water damage to take on another customer immediately. I give this kind of personal attention and professionalism to all of my customers. I am also not the type of contractor to come sign a contract with you and then leave you waiting. Or worse, start your work and then have to go deal with the original customer's issue and then get back to your job. When dealing with a customer's home or place of business you have to be detail oriented, expedient, and reliable. I pride myself on those traits. I did meet with you, prepared a contract proposal, itemized the contract per your request to make materials and services more affordable for you, provided a copy of my license, insurance, references, and dealt with you via email and phone several times. It became apparent that you were requiring your job to be performed immediately and our time schedules simply did not match up.
