FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I am always learning! Whether it is from trade magazines, (they are all over my house) following online trends or going to workshops. In the last year I attended WPPI (Wedding Portrait Professionals International) in Las Vegas which was awesome! A week of amazingly talented speakers and a huge trade show.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I shoot primarily weddings, I like to be present for the whole day covering all the details and really telling the story of your wedding. My favorite part is creative portraits with just the bride and groom. I also do portrait sessions in beautiful locations where I try to capture real, candid moments. This includes engagements, family, kiddos and portraits for professionals. I have also worked with some great local companies shooting food photography and other projects to be used for ads and marketing.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for years of experience, especially for wedding photography as this is not something that can be learned and skills honed over night. Make sure the professional has a contract and read it! Also make sure they have insurance, professional gear and backups of that gear. Study their portfolio to make sure you like their style and most importantly meet them and see if the are the right fit. Your photographer will be with you your whole wedding day so make sure your personalities match well.
