Forget every nightmare you've ever heard about, or even had yourself, about a contractor. Seriously. Take a deep breath, call Mike, and never have another sleepless night, at least over your home renovation, again. Mike Tikhonov and Carolina Property Outfitters are nothing short of a dream come true.
I bought a foreclosed farmhouse in North Asheville that was in terrible shape. Mike worked tirelessly with me from beginning to end of the process. From collaborating with me on my vision for the home -- his creativity and design sense are extraordinary -- to his efficiency working with the lender to close the renovation loan, and, of course, the construction itself. Absolutely gorgeous! He works with only the best and most reliable roofers, plumbers, electricians, masons, painters, carpenters -- you name it! And I'm convinced he attracts such amazing craftsmen because he, himself, has so much integrity, and treats his crew -- and everyone else -- with great respect. I know. I'm gushing. You might even be going into sugar shock reading this. But the absolute truth is, I could never say enough wonderful things about Mike Tikhonov and Carolina Property Outfitters. I moved to Asheville from Los Angeles, where I had renovated 3 different homes over the years. ALL were fraught with tension, dependability and budget issues. Not so with Mike! This renovation completed without one hitch and exceeded my wildest expectations! If you don't at least give Mike a call and meet with him when you need a contractor, my only advice would be... try counting sheep.

Mike is the best builder I ever had and had to work with. He is very hospitable and goes out of his way to make the building process stress free. The architect that he uses has great ideas and Mike works closely with him to make sure all of your need are met. His ideas and construction are superb I would highly recommend him.

I was so very fortunate to find Carolina Property Outfitters through Thumbtack.
Michael is the owner of Carolina Property Outfitters and has proved to be honest, reliable, knowledgeable and professional throughout the updating of my home. His team is of the same standard which was important since I was out of town for the vast majority of the makeover. Both Michael and his team listened to you as a client which is a refreshing change since many contractors prefer to dictate what can be done. Michael worked with many other trades (Plumbers, Carpenters etc.) which were required to finish the project, all were scheduled in and out the house in a timely way.
The finish project is perfect, a bathroom was added and truly looks as though it was always there thanks to Michael's eye for details. His care for such details really made him and his team a cut above the rest. While the main budget had a few major setbacks typical of an old house, all of the original listed work came in well under budget.With a third floor to be renovated in the not-too-distant future I cannot think of using anyone else but Carolina property outfitters for the job.
They were simply excellent from start to finish.

I have just met Mike and am signing a contract with him for major rehab on my West Asheville home. Mike is a professional and knows his trade well. He has excellent communication and listening skills, and very in tune to.what I wanted to accomplish with this project. Very quick to respond and on time for meetings. I am looking forward to working with Mike and feel he is an answer toy prayers! More to come as project moves forward

Mike has built five houses for us (our own residence and four rentals for my husband and me) and remodeled another three over four years. That alone tells you how exceptional we have found his services.
You will not find a more conscientious reliable and ethical builder if you searched for years.
