FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I quote most of my work by the job. Smaller check list items I charged by the hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once initial contact is made I like to have photos and details of what the customer is looking for, as well what the current space looks like. Once I confirm the work is in my will house, I come over to take measurements and photos. I then provide a detailed estimate and dates available for scheduling. Once work and estimate is agreed upon I will ask for a deposit up front, this helps weed out the folks that aren't serious and covers some materials to get started. Most of the time it's 50% up front and then the rest once the project is completed. Most the jobs I do only take a few days, however if doing a flip or long term project a pay schedule contract will be put into place.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been trained in construction by some of the Industries most talented carpenters around. At the start of my carer I was trained by one of hollwoods top prop carpenter. He was the lead carpenter for several large film costumes and movie props, such as the Iron man, Transformer and Hunger games to name a few. This guy was an incredible mentor and teacher and taught me a lot of what I know when it comes to finish carpentry.
