About
We pride ourselves on honest, dependable cleaning and inspection of chimneys and dryer vents to ensure the comfort and safety of your home. Specializing in Chimney/Fireplace Inspection, Chimney Caps, Damper repair/replacement, Waterproofing, and Dryer Vent Cleaning. Insured
The reason your chimney needs a chimney sweep is because the smoke produced by your fire has tiny unburned but flammable solid particles and oils from the wood which adhere to the walls of your chimney flue called soot. This soot is what we take out of the chimney during a chimney cleaning. Over time the soot in your chimney is refined by heat and becomes an extremely flammable material called creosote. A lot of people don't realize the creosote in their chimney is flammable, and all it takes is a tiny spark or ember to ignite the creosote and start a
chimney fire, where the actual walls of your chimney flue are on fire. Chimney fires burn at over 2,000 degrees and can easily spread to the rest of your house. You need a chimney sweep to remove the creosote from your chimney flue. Chimneys and pipes like the ones on wood stoves are designed for smoke to pass through at relatively low temperatures; they are not built to withstand chimney fires which can burn at 2,000 degrees. A chimney fire can collapse a masonry chimney by destroying the mortar. In a pre-fab chimney the high heat can cause the metal to warp or separate allowing the fire to spread to the rest of your home. Soot build up in your chimney also reduces the flow of air out of the chimney flue and the chance of smoke coming back in the house is increased. Soot that is left on the walls of your chimney flue after extensive use hardens into extremely flammable and corrosive third stage creosote. Only a chimney sweep can remove the soot from the chimney flue. For safety's sake have Carolina ProSweep clean and inspect your chimney and fireplace every year!
Besides cleaning your chimney, we will also perform a chimney inspection. It is good to have the condition of your chimney checked every year by a chimney sweep to make sure your chimney is in safe condition and that the top seal of your chimney is in good condition to protect your home from the elements. We will be checking to make sure that your chimney is safe for burning fires. If your chimney doesn't need cleaning, Carolina ProSweep will not perform a chimney sweep and will not charge you for cleaning, only for the chimney inspection. The chimney sweep will also check up on the roof and make sure that your chimney is sealed and secure from the elements. We will be checking for rust and general deterioration on the chimney parts on top of your house to make sure there is no where on your chimney where water can visibly leak into your home. We will also check to see how energy efficient your chimney is by making sure the damper properly closes your chimney and doesn't allow air conditioning to escape out of your chimney. An open, broken or missing chimney damper is like leaving two windows wide open. A properly installed chimney damper can save $30-$40 off your utility bill every month.
We strive to develop and maintain strong personal relationships with our customers to provide peace of mind knowing your family is safe and warm year after year.

David did a great job in cleaning my dryer vent . He had come twice all the way as the first time his ladder was short and he was concerned that it would mess up my roof . He came back the next day with a bigger ladder to climb all the way to 3rd floor and cleaned the dryer vent v well .

When David came to my house, I went out to welcome him and closed the door without thinking. Then found I had no key with me. David tried to open every window but unfortunately all windows were locked. Then he waited with me until a locksmith came to open the door. we waited 1.5 hours but David didn't complain anything. Then he started his work, and done professionally.I thought it would cost more than $200, but David only charged much less than that. I really appreciated that David helped me with my air duct cleaning. He is a super nice guy doing a great job, you won't be disappointed.

He was right on time. Did a minor repair at no charge, cleaned out the dryer vent and said everything was good. Very reasonably priced and would definitely recommend.
