FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm $65/hour, and a happy to provide custom sliding scale on case-by-case basis as I'm able to. Travel is charged at $.50/one-way-travel-minute. If it takes me 10 minutes to get to you from Carrboro, that's a $5 added fee. I care about making my work accessible, and am happy to get creative!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have intro calls where I can learn about the students history and goals, and I can answer any questions, like basic gear, materials, books and whatnot. First lesson is very discovery and play oriented, where I work to discover learning styles, strengths and growth areas, and get to know the student.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in all the grade school programs you can think of as a percussionist and drummer, so I can help students navigate and excel in those programs like symphonic bands, jazz combos, drum line, pep bands. I studied jazz performance at UCF, working with Marty Morell, a legendary jazz drummer, and mainstay of Bill Evans and other greats. I learned so much from him! Most of my experience though comes from working the field, starting bands, working for others in studio sessions or for hire, getting to play so many genres.
