Introduction
Humane Homes NC is a wildlife removal company founded and based in Chapel Hill NC. We work with mice, bats, squirrels, flying squirrels, opossums, racoons , snakes and carpenter bees. We respond to calls to help figure out what that sound is in the ceiling in walls. See our clients’ 5 star reviews here on Thumbtack, Google, Facebook, and Angie’s List. Our approach and philosophy is unique. We have redefined ‘humane’ in our field. For us this means we do not kill or use any methods that cause pain or suffering. We never use poisons. We never use sticky traps. We never use kill traps or trap and kill methods or euthanasia. Why kill wildlife when you do not have to? Live and let live is our philosophy. Resolve the problem is our practice. Our work is informed by wildlife biology, conservation principles and ecology. That is our background. We provide educational information, empathetic consolation, responding to support your needs, concerns and fears. We assess and resolve the problem and consider the well being of the animals involved. Every month we make a donation to the Triangle Land Conservancy to offset the effects of urbanization and habitat loss. We figure out what is going on, propose a plan, exclude or remove the wildlife and offer comprehensive preventative options to prevent future issues. We are authorized by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission as a Wildlife Damage Control Agents. This agency allows us to issue trapping permits and remove animals from your property when needed. We are insured with a comprehensive $1,000,000 liability policy.

Eric is SO wonderful! We had a copperhead bite our dog in the yard. It was so scary for all of us. Eric was right there, fearless, clearing out leaves and brush and making our yard safe again. Thank you Eric for being diligent, gentle, and getting the job done. We couldn't have done it without you!

Thanks for making this dream real. Happy trails!

We had critters living under our house which was driving our dogs nuts (and in turn us). We tried a sonic deterrent and that worked until it got cold, and then they were back. Then, Eric came in and did a very thorough investigation. He set some humane traps and sealed up the holes where they were coming in and cleared out the nests under the house. Problem solved. We are critter-free (and without killing anything!) He did a very thorough job and was a pleasure to work with. I'd recommend him highly.

Thank you for the review Victoria. Sure the dogs are quiet and bored now that there's nothing crawling under the house.

Humane homes did some fence repair, and deck/playset painting for our home. They also assessed issues with carpenter bees. Their work was professional. There were some additional costs to the original estimate, but this was communicated clearly.

Thank you Teala!

Eric put together and installed an over the toilet cabinet and 4 under the cabinet roll out shelves in the guest bathroom for my handicap mom and mother-in-law. He was courteous, neat, organized, efficient, and was sure to ask questions to ensure the height or location of the item he was installing was exactly how I wanted it done. He arrived on time and and did not take much longer than he estimated that it would take to complete the job. He brought all the tools he needed to accomplish the job. He even left his work shoes outside, which he did not need to do, but that is how he cares for his customers home. He cleaned up after he was done and made sure I was satisfied with the cabinets and roll-out shelves before he left. I would not hesitate to hire Eric again for any project. In fact we are so pleased with the roll-out cabinets in the bathroom that I plan to purchase more for various cabinets in the house and plan to call Eric again to put them together and install them. Thank you Eric for a job well done! You were AWESOME!

The assessment costs $75-$95 depending on the distance, complexity and size of the home. The cost of the actual work will vary widely depending on the complexity and scope of the project. All our findings during the assessment will be written up in a transparent and detailed report. Also included is the estimate for the proposed work. Each item is itemized and detailed.
