About
Robin provides welfare-based training that helps dogs and the people who love them because training should feel good for both ends of the leash. If life with your dog feels stressful, confusing, or smaller than it should, you’re in the right place. Robin Lincoln, M.A., CPDT-KA For 15 years, Robin has specialized in dogs that need more: more patience, more guidance, more science, and a more genuine understanding of how behavior is shaped. She works with fearful, shy, anxious, and reactive dogs, as well as service dogs, and puppies/adults whose guardians want to get it right. Robin brings an uncommon depth of expertise to every case. With a master's degree in math and eight years as a college math professor, she approaches behavioral science with rigorous analytical thinking and translates complex concepts into practical guidance that real guardians can actually use. Over 700 hours of continuing education in behavioral science, learning theory, ethology, neuroscience, and canine cognition inform her work, reflecting a genuine passion for understanding how animals and people actually learn. Robin works with methods rooted in kindness, science, and respect for the whole dog. Because dogs deserve better than pain and fear as teachers. They deserve an approach that honors their total well-being. Robin's clients discover that the real magic happens when they learn alongside their dog. Learning how to communicate with your dog, and how your dog communicates with you creates a happier and deeper bond. And... Robin is with you every step of that journey. Real science. Real results. Compassion and education for dogs and the humans who love them.

We are attending a beginner puppy class with Robin and she is very knowledgeable and encouraging. She is all about positive reenforcement and helping the puppy to want to do what we are teaching them. We receive written materials every class covering the lessons practiced in class. She helps individually practice each new skill in class and works with our puppies to solve any specific struggle they may have with that skill. Our boy wags his tail and can't take his eyes off Robin as soon as she starts working with him. She is clearly a puppy whisperer! It is a very friendly and supportive class - there are no harsh techniques. It is very humane and also very effective. Our wild pup learned to sit on command the first class and now 3 weeks later sits and lays down with just hand signals and walks oh so peacefully on leash. He "stays" while waiting for his meals and has learned to "leave it" and "drop it." Admittedly he needs more practice on this last skill, but given that he is only 6 months old - that is not surprising. I highly recommend taking this class with Robin and your puppy.

Our dog Attie came from a rescue organization, & before that she'd been physically abused. This caused her to become inordinately terrified of all humans (especially men) & literally only wanted to cower in a corner. It was heartbreaking to see her jump at noises & the slightest movement. She would piddle & tremble all the time. After a few months working with Robin, Attie has become more confident & brave & taken on other "normal" dog characteristics. Robin gave us great exercises & tips to help Attie use her brain to think naturally instead of resorting to fear. Robin's specialized Bond Based Choice training is ideal for this particular situation, because it revolves around positive reinforcement. Attie has made amazing progress in the past several months, & we have Robin to thank for so much of it!

Robin's method of training taught me how to bond with our dog and help relieve her fears by recognizing and desensitizing triggers. She demonstrates how to reward the dog with treats on walks fraught with cyclists, joggers, other dogs, and noisy vehicles, giving me a system for heading off lunging and growling behavior. I saw a tremendous improvement in our dog in five sessions and now have a practical routine for continuing the training work. I highly recommend Robin and her warm, insightful approach to dog training!

Robin has been training us and our very active and loving German Short Haired Pointer since we got her 2.5 years ago. She now has about 12 - 15 commands under her belt, or collar. She is great with kids, other dogs, and strangers. In fact, she is on the 'approved playlist' at her day care where she also goes twice a week! We think Robin's positive training (of us and our GSP) is a large part of the reason she has turned out so trusting and loving. There is still work to do, but we enjoy the training with our dog and with Robin.

Robin is a highly intuitive and skilled dog trainer. She loves dogs and dogs love her. She is gentle in her approach, and it is highly successful. Robin is not only wonderful with her dog clients, she is equally loved by the dog parents. She has a great sense of humor and patiently teaches mom and dad how to treat their four-legged kids.
