It was an amazing experience working with Humberto. He was very professional and friendly from the phone conversation to getting the job done. He gave us great advice on the type of carpet to select and was very cost effective. His crew was punctual, and very skilled in getting rid of the old carpet and installing the new one in half a day. Thank you!

We had such a great experience with Metz Carpet & Flooring! I had a hard time deciding on what type of flooring to use in our living room and Humberto was patient and responsive to all of my questions. My husband and I are so happy with the end results. Highly recommend!

Metz Flooring was such a help to me when I was moving into my new townhouse. When he took up the bedroom carpet, he saw there was a rotten panel underneath from an earlier leak. But he took it in stride and fixed it good as new before he put the new carpet in - so glad he took the time to make sure it was perfect so I don't have to worry about smells or falling through!

Umberto redid floors in a condo I was selling in record time and at a great price. The job was done in one and a half doors. Excellent communication and beautiful job!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Our installation pricing is based on two main components: (a) the type of material we’re working with; and (b) the complexity of the project. Some general guidelines for how we come up with project pricing are as follows: (A) Installation, base price per square foot, by material. Carpet - $1.00 LVP and laminate - $1.50 Hardwood nail or glue down - $2.00 Tile $7.00 Removal, base per square foot, by material: Carpet - $0.50 LVP and laminate - $0.75 Hardwood nail - $1.50 Hardwood glue - $2.50 Tile - $4.00 (B) Complexity of the project. Factors include, but are not limited to: Stairs (number and style); Closets and irregular-shaped rooms; Vents, floor outlets, and other surface interruptions; Condition of subfloor (*usually cannot be determined until old floor is removed*); Furniture that needs to be moved; Appliances that need to be removed and replaced; Environmental hazards; Accessibility of project site. ***These pricing guidelines listed above do not include the cost of materials. For those who have not already chosen their flooring surfaces, we do offer end-to-end service, and can help you with selection and purchase; if so, all consultation and materials charges will be clearly communicated, and included as line items on your invoice.***

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

When you reach out to us through Thumbtack, after the initial exchange of emails we will talk on the phone to discuss the details of your project. The next step is to visit your project to take measurements, and get a sense of particulars (existing floors, stairs/banister style, corners and doorways, furniture, etc.). Here we will also talk more in-depth about the installation process, which may include advising or assistance with purchasing materials, damage mitigations, or other services according to your needs. With this information, we will prepare a quote for you. Once you accept our quote, we will be able to put together a schedule for your installation. *Please note that scheduling may involve extra time for things like purchase and delivery, acclimation of materials, subfloor preparation, or other circumstances according to the needs of your project.*
