All I can say is buyer beware - $3500 spent and I wish I could go back in time and use someone else.Husband and wife team whose communication and customer service is awesome at first but once they get your money and if you call back to tell them there is dissatisfaction with some of the work then you get ignored, pushed off and an attitude when Fabian actually does come back to fix the issues.Contracted with Fabian in October of 2023 to repaint my cabinets in both kitchen and our 1/2 bath. In this same contract he was going replace all our hardware, paint our bathroom, refinish our bathroom sink to go from builder grade look to marble and also paint the interior and exterior of a newly installed back door. They started work on October 17th and came back on October 30th and 31st and worked until about 6pm; to which he seemed rushed at the end. The cabinets at first came out great but around September 2024 we started to notice chipping on multiple doors of which were removed from our house and taken to his shop to paint. I would also note that NOT a single cabinet perimeter surface has had a defect - I make note of this because we were blamed for being too rough or using chemicals on the doors to create the chipping. I called Fabian right away and he made an appointment to come see what we saw as he stated there was a warranty but that only covered the paint. He came and said its must be something we are doing or using to clean the cabinets with but he would be back to fix them and it would take about a day. He would look at his schedule and call me with a date to return. I gave Fabian from October 2024 to January 2025 to call me with a date. I reach out to him early in January and my text was ignored. I tried a second time and I was sent to voicemail. I called from a different number and Fabian picked up. He insisted he didnt have time on his schedule and would call me back. I insisted he find time and that I waited long enough. He told me February 7th and confirmed again he would be here the better part of the day to complete the touch ups / repairs. Today he should up at 9:09 am and left at 9:29 am. He let himself into my house (who does that?), took the paint can that had some drips in it from the original job in 2023 and simply touched up the spots to which you can still see the chipping paint. I cleared my entire day to be home and he was here 20 min.The photos attached speak to how the bathroom sink came out. Again at first the sink looked amazing. However, Fabian told us to turn the air down low on the evening if October 30th to help the epoxy dry. Well what he didnt realize was that the HVAC was going to blow dust and hair up and it dried with serve imperfections. He didnt remove the faucet or drain and the export build up looked terrible to the naked eye. Fabian then tried to fix several more times putting the bathroom out of use for weeks in end. Finally I told him I wanted a refund and that I was going to replace it the sink all together. He insisted that it was his error and he would replace the sink and give me a refund to make it all right. He had a friend that owned a marble shop. He sent me 3 photos of a sink/counter top and told my wife and I choose which pattern we liked. We did and he showed up in February of 2024 with a sink we didnt choose - yes you read that right 4 months later after he started the work at our house. Fabian also handed me a gift card for Lowes because he k ew we replaced the faucet and that it would work with the new sink. The gift cards was for $100 to which if you have ever bought a bathroom sink faucet they are more than $100. I received no refund and barely an apology. The week after he finished the work - we noticed he didnt paint the exterior of the door. Again he rushed through it when we called him back because you can see in the photos where the paint is missing till this day. While my experience seems like a one off based on his reviews, I can assure you its all accurate and true. Id be shocked if he respond to this review trying to rebuke it.
AV Painting LLC's reply
Up until now, I have always been respectful toward this client. However, as I always say, it is important to respond to both positive and negative reviews so that future customers can make an informed decision about what is true. From the very beginning, there were challenges with this client. He had an estimate for over a year before reaching out to proceed with the project, and even requested a discount because he believed the price should not have changed over time. However, inflation and rising material costs are a reality. Despite this, we honored the estimate and took on the project. Furthermore, we responsibly provided solutions and made ourselves available each time the client reached out, even after the project was completed. Unfortunately, this individual has a habit of leaving negative reviews for many businesses. It seems that no service is ever good enough for him, and no company meets his expectations. Could it be that the real issue lies with him? A simple search of his name will reveal a pattern of negative reviews. We have documented proof of all our communications and have consistently provided service at every stage. There was an issue with the countertop project that did not turn out as expected, and to this day, we are unsure why. Perhaps it was just bad luck. Regardless, we replaced the inexpensive wooden countertop with an original stone one. When asked if he was satisfied, he said yes—only to later claim it was not what he wanted after we had left. We even provided a $100 gift card for him to purchase a new faucet, yet he was still dissatisfied because he wanted a $300 faucet. He initially assured us that he would not leave a negative review, but after we stopped responding to his sarcastic and mocking messages, he seemed to take offense. He first rated us with four stars, then changed it to three a week later, and has now downgraded it to one star. This pattern raises concerns about credibility. It is unfortunate that he does not maintain his cabinets properly and has to retouch them frequently. He even admitted that his neighbor had a reference for our work and that our craftsmanship was impeccable. He questioned why his cabinets did not look the same—implying that we provide different levels of service to different clients, which is absolutely not the case. What is truly unacceptable is that he went so far as to call me dishonest, something I do not tolerate from anyone. I made that very clear over the phone—I demand respect. It was also unprofessional of him to attempt contacting us from multiple phone numbers, assuming we were intentionally avoiding him. The reality is, Eric, we have real work to do and are busy! To conclude this story, when I visited today to address the minor issues he claimed were our responsibility, I was met with a surprising sight—dozens of blue tape markings everywhere (1year and 4 months later). This is what happens when you constantly haggle for lower prices and undervalue quality work. And just in case, if you break it, it's your responsibility, not ours! That photo you posted here is your own, so find someone to fix it for you. If you post pictures, post the actual countertop we replaced! The good one, not the cheap one you had. I entered your house? I rang the bell twice and no one opened it and when you showed up I told you! YOU ARE LYING! Dear clients, I encourage you to draw your own conclusions. BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS BAD BARGAINING CUSTOMER

We recently had our kitchen cabinets repainted by AV Painting. Fabian and Maria did a fantastic job. Communication was clear and prompt from the time we requested a quote until the job was completed. We were impressed with their attention to detail and the quality of their work . . . the job was done just as they had described in advance. They were meticulous in their prep and cleanup as well. We are very happy with the final result and strongly recommend AV Painting.
