The job was a big huge birthday party outside town with a crowd itching to have a good time. Big Dawg Beaudry didn't disappoint. Think he brought in more equipment than you see at an Embers show at OD. Anyhow, the music started and the party began. Have to tell you, Big Dawg is NOT just a DJ, he's a showman. He reads a crowd better than anyone I've ever seen. If the crowd seems to favor slower, less rowdy music....he's got it. If the crowd is a beach music crowd....he's got it. Want 60's & 70's....he's got it. Anyone for line dance.....he's got it. Intertwined with the fabulous music and his comments to relate with the crowd, he throws some of his own talent into the mix too. Something Big Dawg does that isn't so common with other DJ's is that he gets to know the crowd. David has that personality that you just want to talk to him and his great attitude rubs off on you and even if you were a little down coming in, before you know it, you're having a good time.....like everyone else. Big Dawg's approach to every time I've been somewhere he performed is laid back, professional, upbeat and contagious....all at the same time. Since my first experience having him DJ one of our functions, I've contracted with him for a 4-class year reunion. That was an easy sell to the committee because everyone either knew him or had heard his reputation for a great show and excellent talent in his doing his show. Last thing, I call what he does a "show" and not just a gig or a job because that what the Big Dawg makes it....a SHOW. If you haven't been to where Big Dawg Music is doing the DJing, make it a point but only if you want to have a great time.
