Jose's work is terrible. It was an absolute nightmare from start to finish, which his coworker Carlos(dry wall person) also agreed in his absence. He lacks professionalism and has no skills, leaving the project unfinished and in a real bad state. First, he gave us over estimates on items required to do the project. He used 70% of items conpare to quote. The corners weren't finished in the slightest, leaving raw, unsealed edges that looked sloppy and unfinished. Railings were cut uneven, not installed completely, that cause them to be easily pulled out.
Beyond the visible gaps, it seems basic construction practices were ignored. It appears no wood glue was used to properly attach the wood, which makes me seriously question the stability and longevity of this entire structure. It feels flimsy and poorly constructed.
And the issues don't stop there. The drywall where the old wall was removed was left incomplete - no paint, no patching, just bare, damaged wall. To add insult to injury, the baseboards that were presumably removed for the installation were never put back! This leaves an unsightly gap and further contributes to the unfinished and unprofessional look.
The demolition process itself seems to have been handled carelessly. There are noticeable damages to the existing stairs and the sides of the staircase that were clearly caused during the removal of the old railing . These damages were not addressed or repaired in any way, leaving me with additional problems to fix on top of this botched installation.
Honestly, it's hard to believe this was done by a professional. It looks like a rushed, incomplete, and frankly, damaging job. I am beyond disappointed with the quality of work and the sheer negligence displayed. I would strongly advise anyone considering this contractor to run in the opposite direction. This has been a costly and frustrating experience, and I now have to hire someone else to come in and fix this entire mess.
