Basement Finishing or Remodeling

Great value

Shawn F. says, "We did a full master bathroom remodel with Monseh at All Elite Construction. This included a full demolition, redesigned plumbing, shower, tub, vanity, floors, and electrical. We included photos of the before & after for reference. We couldn’t be happier with the result. I want to share an honest recap, because this company and the owner deserves praise for the excellence across the board. Before hiring a contractor for this major renovation, we had many contractors come out to give us a quote. During this process, we evaluated the professionalism, attention to detail, and transparency of each contractor. It was important for us to hire an honest company that could deliver on their promises. Monseh at All Elite was an easy hire for us, showing early on that his priority is the relationship between his business and the clients they serve. The project was not without it’s challenges. There were many things that came up (anyone who’s renovated a bathroom will tell you this comes with territory). With each unforeseen challenge to our project, Monseh was communicative, helpful, and fair in ensuring it was taken care of. I never worried about being price gouged or ripped off. I never worried about something being done poorly and costing us issues later on. This is what made working with All Elite superior to all the others we evaluated, and it reigned true from the start to the finish of this project. I recall times where Monseh and his team stayed late into the evening to ensure a step in the project was completed on time. Times where they were willing to go above and beyond to make the shower look perfect, ensure the electrical for lighting was the right height to fit big mirrors, times where they ate cost just to make us happy with the final result. This isn’t industry-standard, nor an expectation I’ve ever had of a contractor before. That’s what makes Monseh and his business different and superior to the others we’ve worked with in the past. This is a great contractor, to put it simple. In an industry filled with corner-cutting, price gouging, and bad characters, Monseh Blanks and his All Elite Construction business stands as the differentiator. We’ll be hiring them for all future projects in our home. Thank you Monseh and your team for everything over the last few weeks during this project. Looking forward to having you back for more projects in the future!"See more

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is the best waterproof flooring for a basement?

There are several great options for waterproof basement flooring. For example, epoxy floors are waterproof but are thicker and sturdier than paint. Make sure the concrete substrate has been prepared for application.

Tile is a designer’s dream, giving you a moisture-resistant surface that’s infinitely customizable. Rubber sheets or tiles are also good waterproof options, particularly for playrooms, workout areas or laundry rooms.

Vinyl tiles and planks imitate wood or other materials very convincingly, provide moisture resistance and last a long time. And sheet vinyl is affordable and a great waterproofing solution for those in need of quick fixes.

Do general contractors offer remote or virtual services?

General contractors perform manual work and typically need to be present to complete their projects. However, if you come across a profile that states the contractor is offering remote services, ask what those services include. You can also ask if they can perform a consultation via video call and if they can do the job while following guidelines from the CDC and local agencies.
