Nancy’s Pet Sitting began as a mother–daughter team and has grown into a trusted, in‑home pet boarding and daycare service. I’ve been caring for pets for over 12 years and treat every dog and cat as if they were my own.
My home has no resident pets, so your pet gets my full attention. I offer a huge, fully fenced, shaded backyard and a screened porch where dogs love to romp and relax. I follow your pet’s normal feeding and potty schedule as closely as possible, and one daily walk is included.
Current rates: $30/day per dog ($33 for puppies or high-energy/high-maintenance dogs) and $10/day per cat. I’m not doing home visits or dog walking off-site at this time.
When you reach out, please share your pet’s age, breed, temperament, dates needed, and a photo. A meet-and-greet at my home is required for all new dogs.

Nancy and Jenny took care of my puppy for almost a week. They provided great, loving care to her and were very responsive about how she was doing while I was away. They were wonderful and I will definitely use them again!

Never have I left my dog with anyone or a kennel in the 4 years I've had him. When my family asked me to go on a family trip for a week, I was apprehensive. Knowing this wouldn't be the last time I may need pet sitting services, I began a search. Starting with Thumbtack, I decided on Nancy because of her reviews. Fingers crossed, I sent her an email with the information she requested. I know my dog and I know how well behaved and loving he is, but I'm also aware of the bad reputations given to Rottweilers. Nevertheless, I gave her all the information she requested expecting a "thank you, but no thank you." Quite the contrary, Nancy responded immediately requesting we come for a visit. He took to her right away which I didn't doubt he would. He's up for anyone who will love on him. I felt a calm and peace upon leaving our visit. Love on him she did! Everyday she sent a picture and text letting me know how he was doing. I received a text from Nancy the day I flew back asking if I was going to make it back due to snow that hit Charlotte. I let her know I had just landed and would be there shortly. Her response? "I was hoping I would have him one more day." That was the cherry on top of a week long trip for me. Hands down, if you want your pet loved on, taken for walks, whatever your pet needs, Nancy is your pet sitter. I will be using Nancy every time I need a pet sitter.

We left our two Lab mixes in Nancy's care for a weekend. Before we dropped them off, Nancy took the time to talk to me on the phone and answered all of my questions! She really seemed to understand dogs and their behavior when they are left in the care of someone else. She sent me an update while we were away as well. I loved that she lived right by a park and said she would take my dogs out there for a walk!

Nancy boarded our 3month old golden doodle and our two baby kittens for four days. She was excellent. Our animals were happy and healthy when we returned, and Nancy kept us updated with pictures and videos. Her house and location are perfect for pets. We feel lucky to have found her. She is a true animal lover, and we will always use her when she is available.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $30/dog/day to board at my home. If a dog is a puppy, energetic, or high maintenance the rate is $35/dog/day. I will also have to charge extra for dogs that have numerous potty accidents in the house.
I occasionally get requests to board cats - $10/cat/day at my home.
Currently I my business is limited to my home. I do not go to another home to feed or walk.
Contact me if you want me to spend the night - I do it on a very limited basis.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always appreciate new customers! I require a "meet and greet" with my new owners at my home to learn more about their dogs and see if it looks like a good fit. I'll explain my policies and what I need to ensure the dog has a great visit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Experience - I've been dog sitting since 2014. I started with my daughter Jenny when she in middle school. We both loved dogs and it was a great way to have an income and keep the flexibility we need. Jenny worked one year at Ruff Housing and got an lot of experience there. Now my daughter Emily lives with me; she loves animals and has volunteered at the Humane Society.
