S&R General Contracting gave us the lowest bid for our extensive bathroom remodeling job. The project was delayed by several unforeseen issues but they pushed to meet our final deadline, working many long hours. The workmanship is outstanding and the finished product exceeded our expectations. Raul and his workers were considerate, professional and trustworthy.

They did a fantastic job removing the popcorn and painting two vaulted ceilings (12+ ft) over the stairs and walls. They were able to use the paint that we provided and the cost was better than any of the other estimates. The job was done very quickly for the amount of work, and was completed on schedule. Overall, I am very pleased with the work they did.

I hired Raul for renovating my downstairs half-bath. Overall, my experience with him was very good. His strengths are his professionalism and value. Raul is a real nice guy and pleasant to work with. The contractors that do the actual work has been very professional. And the price that he quotes is good compared with other quotes that I've gotten. Raul wants to make sure that his customers are happy. His weaknesses are promptness and inconsistent quality. When he says a contractor should be there between 9 and 9:30, expect the contractor to show up between 10 and 10:30. One day there was a mix-up, and we just had to reschedule the work to another day. The quality is inconsistent depending on who is working. There was one contractor who did a terrible job on the paint. Raul had another guy over to fix the job. I believe anyone hiring Raul will have a great experience if you are willing to recognize and appropriately compensate for his weaknesses. So this means that you'll have to be flexible on scheduling. It means making sure that both parties know in detail exactly the work that needs to be done for the project. It means having to be more hands-on in making sure that the contractors know what they need to do for the day. It means looking over their work carefully to make sure that they've done quality work. If you are not willing nor have time to deal with the details of the renovation, I would find another contractor. In my opinion, for the price, it's worth being extra hands-on with the project. I plan to hire him again for renovating my upstairs full-bath.
