Introduction: Hi! My name is Anna, I'm a dance instructor and former professional ballet dancer based in Charlotte, NC. I have an encouraging, custom-based approach that fits any skill level, whether you’ve never danced before but want to wow your wedding guests with your first dance, or you’re a seasoned dancer looking to refine and grow your skill, or you want to give your child a “leg up” in their first dance class.

For wedding couples:
My priority is to make your first dance everything you envisioned and more! That’s why I tailor each dance to each couple’s specifications. Choreography isn’t one size fits all: Some people want a dance with lots of sparkle, similar to Dancing With The Stars - Others want something simple and sweet. I’ll work with you until we’ve created a dance that is fun, easy to remember, and makes you look like you’ve been dancing for years, even if you’ve never set foot in a studio. I want to make this aspect of your big day as fun and stress-free as possible; something you’ll look back on years from now and smile!
For ballet students:
In our lessons we will refine your technique and further develop your artistry while building your confidence. Classes will include dance anatomy, theory, injury prevention, and career prep for dancers ready to launch their careers. In my class I pay close attention to technical precision and building the correct foundation of dance technique so that students get the maximum benefit out of their private sessions. Lessons will be uniquely personalized to the individual needs of the student. My students currently range from first year beginners to pre-professionals ready to start their dance careers. No matter what level you are starting at, or what your goals and dreams may be, I cannot wait to work with you and see all your talent unfold!

Biography:
I began my classical ballet training at the age of five years old and have been dancing ever since! During my early ballet training I studied classical ballet technique at the Charlotte School of Ballet through both the Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) and the Cechetti Method where I then had the privilege of participating for many years in world-renowned examinations where I received numerous awards of "Distinction" and "Highly Commended".
In 2009, I had the privilege of dancing with the Moscow Ballet in The Great Russian Nutcracker during their tour to Charlotte, NC.
During my pre-professional training years I began to expand my focus in studying other styles of dance. Among those were: Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Ballroom and Character Dance.
In 2016, I was chosen by Gelsey Kirkland (former partner of Mikhail Baryshinkov and world renowned ballerina) to be coached by her at her school in New York City. At the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet I was trained in the Vaganova and Bournonville method of ballet technique. During my senior year of high school I was invited to join the U.S International Ballet as a corps de ballet member. There, I had the privilege of dancing many roles varying from corps de ballet to soloist. In 2019, I joined Columbia Classical Ballet Company for its 2019/2020 season where I danced in numerous ballets including: Giselle, Coppelia, The Nutcracker, Red Riding Hood, and The Wizard of Oz. I am still dancing professionally and have found another passion in teaching dance to all ages. My ultimate hope is to inspire the joy of ballet and its rich history to the next generation.
