- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
While my rates may seem high, you must understand I am literally bringing a lifetime of experience with me to your lessons. Standard pricing is as follows: One hour lessons: $40.00 Half hour lessons: $30.00
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For beginning piano students, the process is to get them playing on the first lesson. We dive right in and start the process to demystify the piano. For the initial learning period I use the John Schaum method books. They are very clear and get you playing in a very easy to understand way, progressing at an easy pace for kids and a bit more quickly for adults.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was classically trained on piano by Leslie Singer, concert pianist and wife of Jaques Singer, the conductor of the Portland Symphony Orchestra at the time (early 1960s). Beyond that, I have had a professional musical career spanning 40 years, so understand music in a very comprehensive way beyond mere "theory".
