Initially Joshua did a great job...until I realized that the paint he used on my kitchen cabinets was a matte finish. This is the worst finish any painter could use on kitchen cabinets as it's very difficult to clean. When I told him he used the wrong paint type he said that is what I asked for. I did NOT ask for matte. He asked me the level of shine I wanted and, as I'm not a painter and did not know much about paint types at the time I told him, "IDK, what do you think? Maybe not shiny" Jacob assumed I meant matte. After talking to paint expert at Home Depot, he said he's never heard of anyone putting matte on kitchen cabinets and that is was not made for kitchen cabinets. he also said any professional painter would know this. Unfortunately I had to pay him more money to put 1 coat of gloss on and fix his mistake. I thought I'd give him a second chance and hired him to paint the downstairs. It looks ok but he did just 1 coat. There was alot of white paint spots all over the brown tile I had to clean up and there was an area in the kitchen where paint was on the tile and I could not get it off (tile is very porous), I asked him what to use to get the paint off and he said soap and water...it didn't work. I asked him again for another way to remove paint along with an invoice. I asked him several times with no response. He basically took the $1700 I paid him and will not get back to me. I would advise not to hire Jason Ko for reasons mentioned. He's extremely unprofessional and did a poor job of painting, for alot of money.

I apologize for your troubles. From the beginning I asked what sheen you wanted on your cabinets (as I always do) and you said none. I charged an extra fee to repaint them as I don't work for free. In regards to the downstairs, you did your walk through and were happy with the finish, so you paid me and I was on my way. Any latex paint that would not come off with hot soapy water and a scrub brush after afew days of painting is not from me. And my name is Joshua Ku. Thanks, Joshua Ku J & k painting Co
