We anticipated having the gutters vacuumed out. The workers arrived pulled in driveway didn't get out to come knock on door to tell me they were there. When I went outside they stayed in truck and said we're here to do gutters. I pointed to house and garage where gutters were to be cleaned. Driver told young man in passenger seat to go ahead. He got out of truck and grabbed a leaf blower and started to walk towards deck. I told him he was going to need a ladder. Driver said well they could come back next day.
They came today. I was in my office and did not know they were outside working on front of house until the young man walked past the door behind house. I went outside and I said I didn't know you were here he said yeah I'm gonna get your water hose to use.
They preceded to clean gutters. While he cleaned the garage gutters I went to front to look at what had been done. The gutters had been blown out and piles of debris were on each corner of house, dirt on front of house and porch. When I came back around he had finished garage and blown the debris to side and front of concrete pad. He was at truck with door open asked me if I needed hand sanitizer before I touched contract I would need to sign. I completed the contract and wrote on there about the debris. He saw me write this and asked if everything was ok. I told him I would think they would at least clean up the debris. He said you want me to blow that out of driveway. I said yes the driveway was clean before because I had just paid to have it cleaned. The driver told him to get the blower out and blow the debris off driveway. I paid them they said thank you and left.
I expect true professional tradesmen to at bare minimum to knock on door upon arrival. I also expect any debris from any job to be removed at job completion. Having run a construction related company myself the motto should be to leave it as well or better than you found it
