- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I became a certified personal trainer after meeting my own fitness goals with the help of a personal trainer from a local gym. Personal training changed my life! I want to help other people reach their goals and lead active, healthier lives with better nutrition and regular exercise. Being a personal trainer is one of the best ways to accomplish this goal.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
One-on-one personal training for clients with fitness or weight-loss goals. Small-group fitness training for clients that share similar fitness goals (couples.)
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Find out what types of equipment the trainer uses. If he/she mentions mostly cardio machines and weight machines, I would look elsewhere. Plenty of trainers can put you on a machine, but an excellent trainer will help you make progress in functional movements (how we really move and interact within our environments.) This requires portable equipment and free weights.
