About
Self-taught pianist with 6+ years of educational experience and 10+ years of classical woodwind training. Currently based in NC, close to Charlotte and I teach virtually. Taught beginner → intermediate students in classical technique, songwriting, ear training, performance prep, and creative composition // I’ve been playing piano for over two decades, teaching myself since I was a child while also performing and competing on classical woodwinds (oboe, clarinet, sax). Today, I write and record music that blends classical structure, unusual time signatures, popular music, and world-music sounds, so I can teach both the discipline of classical technique and the curiosity of creative composition. I have experience working with students of various ages and backgrounds who want to learn the foundations (posture, reading, rhythm) and then use them as tools for songwriting, improvisation, and performance. Lessons are patient, practical, and playful — built to help you develop confident technique, aural skills, and your own musical voice.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Pricing is based on a 4 week payment plan. Students under 21 or new to playing are usually discounted for the first year.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started during the COVID-19 shut downs, teaching virtual lessons and in-person lessons in the area for a while, then eventually continued with doing private in-person lessons on my own. I am recently employed through Traveling Music Lessons LLC, but have been able to find my students solo as well.
