FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started cleaning houses in January of 2013 through an agency and shortly thereafter decided to go on my own and start my own cleaning service. I've been in business since September of 2013. Before then I was in the nursing field for 15 years. The last few of which, I worked as a home health and hospice caregiver which also required me to do some light housekeeping. I've always enjoyed and liked cleaning and am quite detail oriented, so deep cleaning is my specialty. On November 2,2015 I stumbled upon Thumbtack.com and decided to give it a shot to further expand my business. I think this is a great networking tool and I look forward to meeting new clientele!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
We do both residential and commercial offices. Either weekly, biweekly, monthly, one time cleanings and move in/move outs.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My #1 advice would be READ REVIEWS! Along with viewing a potential cleaning services profile, read their past customer reviews. If they've got multiple bad reviews be weary. They may have been in the business longer than us or maybe they gave you a cheaper quote, but reviews are like gold...listen to past customers. Also, when deciding between hiring an individual small business (such as myself) over a large cleaning service agency, do you prefer someone you can talk to and develop a bond with, or just want someone who cleans and leaves? Look for a housekeeper or service that will provide the interaction you want. Working with a large cleaning service can feel less personal, as you may not always get the same housekeeper. Some housekeepers are naturally more standoffish, while some companies pride themselves on building great relationships with clients. I prefer the latter and have developed some really great relationships with my clients.
