If I could select all 5 attributes I would. Working with The Dog Wizard has been a huge game changer for our household. Sure, our Jovie needed to learn a little more discipline but us humans needed even more training! The Dog Wizard trained us all and I am so grateful! They also helped us with introducing her to our new furry friends (kitty) and steps to get them to be friends. Love them!

I have owned many German Shepherd and Belgium Malinois over the years and have used the popular trainers in the Lake Norman area with very disappointing results. Two of my dogs came home emaciated, with focal seizures and scared of people. They all trained with the ecollar and I had no idea they were doing it wrong, they were professionals. They would start with the controller as high as it would go and adjust down as needed. Melanie at the Dog Wizard Lake Norman explained how they use the ecollar as one of their tools to train and they start off at the lowest number the dog responds to. Food rewards as well as praise are other tools they use and my boy Brutus was 10 months old GSD and he had not been trained or socialized. He spent 3 weeks with them, I received videos of his training every day so I could see the progress. Brutus came home a very well behaved pup. At his graduation visit, I was shown how to control him and continue his training. At this point other trainers say bye and that’s it, not with the Dog Wizard, they are only a text or phone call away to provide the help you need. Melanie also provides boarding which is great because my husband and I had decided that we could not go anywhere unless Brutus could come with us. I feel comfortable leaving Brutus with them and enjoy my vacation knowing he is familiar and comfortable with them. If you are looking for a competent , confident trainer, The Dog Wizard is the choice for you. They will not disappoint. Below are pictures of Brutus at school and home as a happy well behaved boy

I sent my Chiweenie, Milo, to other training programs and it didn’t work. The best decision I made was enrolling him in The Dog Wizard Board and Train program three years ago. The structure of the program helped him with issues such as unnecessary barking, pulling, anxiety and interacting with people. Milo learned a lot and was happy while he was training, so much so he boards with Melanie when I go on vacation! I 100% recommend The Dog Wizard for your dog training needs!

Our Lucas terrier Mac is five years old and has been trained and boarded with the Dog Wizard since he was a puppy. He loves being there. It’s the only place I would take him!

We brought our pit bull to Melanie with The Dog Wizard because she was very reactive to people, animals, and golf carts. After 3 weeks of training with Melanie, she came back a different dog. We can take her for walks and different places and not be afraid of any difficult encounters. Years after she was trained, she is still a different dog. We also board our dog with Melanie, and she always has availability and is super flexible about drop off and pick up times.
