Introduction: Hello! I am currently accepting students for private one-on-one lessons on drum set, snare drum, mallet or keyboard. I also teach reading, hand-and-foot technique, four-limb independence, transcribing songs, ear-training skills, and style-awareness. My drumming palate covers Bebop jazz, bass and drums, calypso, soca, salsa, New Orleans, reggae, country, rock and hard rock/fusion double-bass drumming. This is not just a list of things that I have learned out of a book. The list of styles includes gigs that I have played in the past or are currently playing. If you are interested in drum set, I can help you to become the best player that you can be, or if you are just interested in pure chops, we can do that as well. I am a full-time, professional musician who has been teaching and playing for over twenty years. Since moving to Raleigh in 1997, I have played and/or recorded with many regional and local groups. I am qualified to teach beginners with no musical experience (including children), all the way up to semi-professional and professional players who want to take their drumming to the next level.
