- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up in the contracting business, being around my father and helping him out when I was a kid through my teenage years, I learned alot and if I couldn't be a professional athlete, I wanted to help people with a service that I could also make a living at. There's nothing better then giving a homeowner exactly what they are wanting and helping a family that can't afford major repairs get it completed and working out a plan with them. It's in my blood.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common type of jobs are custom decks, roofing, and exterior work. We also do a fair share of gutting properties and changing the flooring plan to make more room and make the house open. I work with investors on this type of work and I love it. The custom decks are my favorite because I build a very strong deck and do a little more then usual to make it last for a long time. No shortcuts on our part....
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Referrals,Referrals,Referrals!! You have to get references from contractors, and make them show you a few different projects they did, not someone else. Make sure they have a business license and are registered with the Deeds office and state of NC. Last but one of the most important, make the contractor prove the updated insurance, call to verify or do not hire.
