- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Makeup is always changing! As a makeup artist, I make sure to stay on top of current trends in addition to education that is available through various cosmetic companies, industry trade shows. The beauty industry is always changing and to stay current, your education must stay current as well.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I discovered makeup around the age of 15. Realizing what all is possible with makeup is when my discovery turned into a passion for the artistry I have today, including 11+ years of self-taught education and working as a professional for the last 8+ years.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask for references of past clients that they have worked for. In addition to the basics such as being professional, ability to listen to the clients needs. You want to make sure they keep their kit(s) clean and sanitized. Any professional makeup artist will be able to provide you with references from past projects, especially if they have nothing to hide.
