FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken multiple courses on plumbing over the years and a lot of training sessions to stay up to date with new plumbing products. Most of my training has been on site from plumbers in which i have worked for. I have a state issued master plumbing license which required 2000 documented hours of field work under a current master plumbers supervision. I had over 38,000 documented field hours at the time of applying for my examination.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted a summer job to save up for a car so that I could drive myself to high school freshman year. My mother works in the office of a big name local plumbing company and the first day of summer break when I was 14 she came home and said "you have a job, you start tomorrow". I saved every penny I earned that summer and with a $200 loan from my parents I was able to buy a truck at 15. Over that summer I fell in love with the profession. I was fascinated by plumbing and how it all worked.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If you are not 100% comfortable with your service provider or their plan of action then DO NOT proceed with the work. Plumbing is expensive and confusing to a homeowner. Make sure you have a good understanding of what will be taking place and that it seems right to you. Remember the customer is always right. If you are paying for plumbing services it should be a good experience from the moment the plumber arrives.
