About
Hello! My name is Allen Miller. I'm a very experienced, RSPA-certified Professional instructor with 25 years of teaching experience in southern California, south Florida and here in RDU since 2019. I teach all ages, levels and styles of play - beginners, intermediates and advanced/high-performance players. I also teach Doubles Positioning and Strategy which will rapidly improve your play.
I am proud to say that I am much in demand, filling up my teaching schedule primarily through word-of-mouth referrals. I follow strict health and safety guidelines to keep everyone safe, am USTA Safe Play/Background Checked and am certified by the USTA as a 10 & Under instructor for children.
My rates are $60 an hour for private and $75 an hour for semi-private lessons (2-3 students). I also offer discounted multi-lesson packages. I have access to many courts around the RDU area and we can do your lessons at a conveniently-located court.
Thank you so much for your interest. I look forward to chatting with you soon.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is competitive with local standards. I offer discounts for packages of 6 or more lessons. All lessons are 60 minutes.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When we meet, we'll first share our backgrounds. I will briefly go over some ground rules about safety, asking questions (bring them on!), court nomenclature, and encourage students to relax and have fun.
If they are beginners, I'll do some "A-B-C" (agility, balance coordination) exercises and start by choosing a stroke (generally forehand) to teach.
If the student has some playing experience, I'll put them on the baseline, feed them balls and evaluate how they hit. Same for volley and serve.
Together we'll decide where to focus our lesson.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been playing tennis since 1970 reaching 5.5 on the NTRP scale. I played #2 singles and #1 doubles for Division 1A Cal. State Long Beach, open tournaments, team player and coach.
I'm a USPTA Certified Professional with 23 years of teaching experience.
