FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
💲My goal is to keep dogs in the home and to make training affordable. I try to keep my overhead low so I don’t train at a facility or have an office full of staff. I wear many hats in my business! I do offer package pricing which is discounted pricing for 4 or more sessions versus the single session pricing. No refunds are offered for packages unless there is a problem (medical) with the dog. Should a refund be the appropriate action the completed sessions are charged at the per session(hourly) rate and any remaining balance will be refunded. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Pricing is generally determined by location of customers home and dogs specific training requirements. I do post my pricing on my website, but accurate pricing for YOUR dog may be modified after the initial evaluation. If you have questions about pricing and/or refunds please ask.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to do a free consultation on the phone to gather information and details about the dog and the family. We will talk about goals and specific behaviors you would like to train or eliminate. I can give a better estimate of pricing/package at that time. If you would like an inhome consult I do provide these as well. There is a fee associated with the in- home consult as they generally last an hour or so. Please give me a call and I can explain all of your options for the best dog you can have!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started out with college plans for veterinary school - and tan out of money! 😆 I ended up with a degree is Animal Science and post graduate courses in Comparative Psychology. Early on in my life I trained and showed Alaskan Malamutes as a Junior Handler, and just loved working with animals. I fell into dog training as a hobby initially while working part time with an amazing trainer (before training celebrities) I continued to take on challenging projects such as working with “throw away dogs, dogs that had been abused and feral dogs. The more difficult the project the more I loved it. After my “ real world” career as a National Training Director in the Telecom Industry, I came back to working with dogs. I went through programs and workshops by some of the best Animal Training and Behavior professionals such as Dr. Ian Dunbar, Dr. Patricia McConnell, Trish King, Dr. Sophia Yin (RIP) and more. Most recently I attended a 4 day workshop on treating dogs with aggression issues. I have worked closely with Veterinary Behaviorists and Veterinarians on many projects. Most of my ongoing training and education is approved through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers.
