About
Sometimes I teach students who had a guitar or ukulele teacher before me. Often, all they learned were a few easy chords. My students come away from their very first lesson with a song. When they learn melodies they recognize, students work towards playing that melody accurately. It's rewarding for the student when their audience recognizes the melody too.
As my students progress, we focus on the music they're interested in, keeping the lessons fun and relevant.

Justin is an excellent instructor! I started taking guitar lessons from him a month ago, and I had no guitar background whatsoever. He has taught me a lot in a short period of time. He has a great knowledge of music theory and a wide range of playing abilities, so he's been able to teach me any guitar style I've been interested in. Justin caters the lessons to my interests, so I've had a lot of fun learning because I'm getting to play the songs that really inspired me to learn guitar. I've had music intructors before, and Justin is one of the best because of his patience, knowledge, and passion for music. It has been a lot of fun to learn from him, and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to learn guitar.

Justin has been teaching my 13 year old son how to play the guitar for several months now. And he is fantastic! Justin is patient and encouraging. He has relaxed teaching style. He is teaching my son not only how to play the guitar, but he is also teaching him a true love of music. Justin is knowledgeable and teaches my son on a level that he can understand. He also chooses music that is interesting and fun, not just "Mary Had a Little Lamb". At 13, Justin is teaching him a love for the blues and classic 70's tunes.
On a professional level, Justin is always on time. If he needs to reschedule, he does so in a timely manner. And he works around my schedule as well. Justin is very easy to talk to, polite, and kind. Although, he is only teaching guitar to my oldest, all of my other children love having him come over.
I would highly recommend Justin again and again.

Justin is an amazing musician with such a gift for teaching! My children (ages 7 and 11) have been taking ukulele and guitar lessons with him for about a year and we couldn't be more pleased! Justin is so patient and makes lessons fun. He truly fosters their love for music by teaching them through music they are interested in. They come away from each lesson with a new song or skill and a smile on their faces and they can't wait to see him each week. I am amazed by the progress they have made while working with him! I cannot say enough about what a wonderful teacher Justin is and I would highly recommend him to anyone in search of a talented and professional guitar or ukulele teacher!

The best guitar teacher you will find
My son Matt had taken guitar lessons for several years and got burned out and stopped. He really had no interest in taking lessons anymore. It just wasn't fun for him.
I found Justin and the thought of having lessons in our house was appealing to me. I scheduled that first lesson. Minutes before Justin arrived Matt reminded me, I dont want to take lessons. Just try one lesson, I told him. I promised him if he didnt like it, he didnt have to continue.
There was as much talking as music playing during that hour and the two of them really hit it off. Justin wasnt out of the driveway before Matt declared I want to take lessons again. It was really that fast. Something about Justin, his personality and his style of teaching made Matt want to continue. And continue he did for 4 years until he left for college.
In those 4 years, Matt never got bored again. Those lessons were never a chore they were something he looked forward to every week. He became a better guitar player, expanded his musical tastes and learned how to create his own music and write his own songs. While they usually played songs Matt chose, Justin would include all of the technique he needed to play other styles of music too. Justin is an exceptional teacher and an even better person. I cannot recommend him enough.
