Corey has helped me with the three aspects in my life; mentally, spiritually and physically in three different ways. I am an athlete constantly learning how to play basketball and a young man learning how to become a better one. Thanks to the tools, Corey brought to the table with him, I continue to use them to this day to help me grow. Personal training, yoga and essential oils all helped take me to the next level. Personal training was informative step by step and different which kept it fun. I don't know about you but weight lifting all the time gets boring and repetitive. The training changed every couple of weeks because significant progress was made. Corey's energy level was always there from beginning to end. Yoga helped me to become more relaxed, focused in the moment, flexible and self aware such as with controlled breathing. The essential oils are essentially the icing on the cake, I'll let Corey go into detail about them but for me they are the real deal. They helped me go longer in my workout, recover quicker from playing basketball so rugged and become more grounded while in my yoga practice. I was with Corey for about 6 months at least five days a week. The only reason it was for 6 months is because I relocated to a different city. I still speak in high regard to that time because it laid the foundation down of what I want to do mentally, spiritually and physically. Thanks Corey for providing me with the tools.

Maggie has been an amazing support to me as a life coach for several years. She truly cares about the well being of individuals. For me, she has been a constant emotional sounding board who has helped me work through several difficult life challenges and changes. From family issues to grief and many other instances, Maggie has helped me move through these with an encouraging perspective. Not only does she actively listen, she has a vast and diverse background from which she pulls to empathize and give objective advice. I could not ask for a better experience.

Give yourself a gift, actually the greatest gift you are likely to give yourself, and stop reading my review and call Tim immediately. since you are looking at reviews, you are getting serious about changing your life. Tim will be your partner in that change. Tim's approach is total immersion. he changes the workout every time, makes it fun (even at 5am), and is engaged and interested in you as a human being. He supports you during the day with text messages and phone calls. Seriously, calling him will be the best move you can make if you are serious about changing your life for the better. I hope to see you in the gym...

I have been thru many Nutritional Therapists and fitness trainers with little to no success, untill I was recommended this incredible woman through a co-worker. Kim is not only a very well rounded, educated and intelligent woman who is extremely dedicated and hardworking, but she is also a beautiful person inside and out! She has helped me to not only lose 67 lbs thru nutrition and excercise in 10 months, but to also help me feel good about my self which for many many years I had forgotten what that was like! I highly recommend her for all types of Wellness Coaching! She is THE BEST !! C.B.

I met Kelley in our Ipec coach training program. She was my peer coach, and was par none. I had some concerns that she could help me, given the differences in our age, experience, professional background, spirituality and family dynamics. Kelley helped me more than years of therapy could. My dream would be to work with her in a coaching capacity. Working with Kelley as my coach was transformative. We met when I was trying to recover from a series of dramatic and tragic losses. Through Kelley's coaching I had permission to find my voice and to find ways to heal and move forward. Little by little I have gotten my life back. I love Kelley, and if anyone reading this has the opportunity to work with her you, too, will find she will help you move forward, transform your life, and to see your world through a different lens. She's a great coach with great talents. Susan Klieman

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

    Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.
