I have never had movers before, but with owning heavier furniture and not having help available to me I needed a better option. Amy is very organized and runs an excellent business. She had 2 movers come to move my one bedroom apartment. I voiced any concerns I had about certain pieces with them before they began (I have a few antiques that are almost irreplaceable) and they handled everything with great care. Nothing was damaged in the slightest. They were both very prompt and ready to work. I had read some of the past reviews of people complaining of the movers not working at a fast enough pace, and I cannot imagine how they feel that way! They moved my boulder-like washer and dryer in about 15 minutes, something that took me and a friend an hour to do the first time I moved them. They put everything where I asked them to put it in the new apartment. There was only one hiccup that I didn't realize until a day later, and that was emergency maintenance coming to my new apartment because of a leak in the ceiling below me. The movers apparently did not screw the hoses to my washer on properly/tight enough, so it leaked all night. The apartment didn't hold anyone accountable, it wasn't a big deal. It is a very tight space where they had to move it into, so I can imagine it being hard to get it hooked up. Not a complaint in the slightest, just something for them to look out for in the future because I would have never noticed if I didn't have neighbors below me. I had traded services with Amy, however her pricing is still very fair and I tipped the movers a percentage of the value of the services. I wait tables full time and talk to the general public all the time, so I will be recommending American Moving and Hauling to any customer looking for a great mover!

The movers were excellent, polite and very helpful. All our items were picked up, moved and unloaded in the proper room as requested in 4 hours. We really enjoyed working with this group!

Erik and his crew did a great job, especially with a very heavy, large, WHITE couch that had to be moved down several flights of stairs (and sustained no damage and no dirtiness during the move!!) amongst other large pieces. We are very pleased with the efficiency and professionalism they provided. Erik was cheerful, which is very comforting during a stressful move, and a good communicator - he made sure I was informed of the plan every step of the way. He took extra care to make sure our things would be secure in the truck when we drove away, even though they were not hired to transport the items. We would not have been able to make our move without this crew, and we are so grateful for their care and attention!

This company was amazing. They packed and moved me in two days from Greensboro to Charlotte. They were extremely caring as they packed and wrapped my stuff and furniture, They were on time, professional and caring. I would hire them every time I move and recommend them highly. Thanks to my move team! You guys were great!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We charge hourly for local moves and labor only services. Packing is a per box charge and includes the box, materials, and time it takes to pack the box. For long distance moves we charge based on the weight and distance.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we like to find out the details of your move- what you are moving, from what and to where. All these things matter! We like to determine your particular needs and expectations. We can then walk you through the moving process, including cost and services offered. We also offer free onsite estimates to better determine your cost.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have been in business 17 years and have plenty of experience! We are hard workers and have moved thousands of people over the years.
