Introduction: I really love meeting new people from all aspects of life and learning about them. I really enjoy meeting a client and just talking to them about what they like, or who they are. It makes for really incredible photos when you are able to capture a client in a true form. My favorite thing about photography is capturing a moment in time and freezing it...that is an incredible thing.

In July of 2011, I had the pleasure of modeling in a photo shoot for Meinke Images. Shadlee Meinke is a very talented photographer who immediately sets people at ease with her easygoing nature. Far more than other photographers I have worked with in the past, Shadlee steps back and allows poses to manifest organically from her models, and she effortlessly captures the spontaneity not only of her models, but of the setting, whether it be a city park or an upscale restaurant. On the day that we shot, Shadlee was dealing with harsh summer light and temperatures in an outdoor setting ... and the portraits she took of me still turned out superbly. The ability to work with any conditions is a surefire sign of an excellent photographer. In short, I cannot recommend Meinke Images highly enough!

I have worked professionally with Shadlee a couple of times. She has taken pictures of my son for his 2 year pictures, and of me for maternity pictures. She was able to capture my camera shy son in the most precious way. He didn't mind her taking his picture! She even got a few smiles :) She did a very good job working with him! At the end of the session he was even fist bumping with her! It was fun! For my maternity pictures she had several cute ideas of how she wanted to capture my belly. She was fun to work with and I've got pictures of my 34th week of pregnancy that I will cherish forever! I will most definetly hire her again to take pictures of my family and would recommend her to anybody!

We hired Meinke Images to photograph our October wedding. I was impressed with the care that was given to our personal preferences about the types of photographs that we envisioned for our wedding. Great attention was given to the small details of the wedding. It is wonderful to have such beautiful pictures of our cake table, rings, flowers, reception hall, and decorations. We had carefully planned these details and we are thrilled to have the pictures to remind us of how lovely everything looked. The outdoor ceremony was photographed beautifully to include both the wedding party and the gorgeous scenery. We have wonderful photographs documenting every portion of the day- from decorating the reception hall to the limo ride, to the dinner and dance with our guests. We are so happy to have all of these special moments recorded to remember our perfect day. Meinke Images listened to all of our ideas and also made great suggestions for our pictures. Excellent!

FAQs

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Currently no, as I am just advancing my business. In the near future though I have lots of exciting things happening and plan on upping my education of photography and editing. I recently purchased an editing software program that I learned how to use on my own, which is continuing education, but not in the formal sense.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I do lots of children shoots, senior photos and families. I am just starting to get more wedding shoots too.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone who not only wants your business because they want money but someone who has a passion for what they do. My prices could be higher, but I just love doing it so much that I don't feel the need to over charge. I want my customer's 100% satisfied, if they are not I am more than willing to make them happy. That is not a quality you find in everyone.
