Only if you he calls you to confirm
I must give a poor review on this vendor. I went with this vendor based on other positive reviews. It is possible there may have been things happening outside of his control and he should have contacted me to say he would not make our event, but needless to say I was left without an officiant at my civil service on August 31. We had communicated by Thumbtack messaging on my date and needs for the civil service. I had also requested an actual phone call and gave several different times of when he could call me. On my second request for a call to confirm, he replied he would call me but then he never did. Perhaps I should have known to look for someone else at that point, but he gave no indication he would not make the date we both agreed on. How my civil service ended was with the groom & bride present, my daughter present, our 2 witnesses present, the photographer present....and NO officiant. I suggest only booking this vendor if you actually speak to him before your event. Ps- I will add he did Thumbtack message me the next day apologizing for not "meeting up" at my civil service and wanted to know if there was a date we could set up for the future. (Heck no! is what I thought)

He met with us twice before. He showed up dressed perfectly, he made sure we were going on the schedule and made the ceremony so great and still simple. We so very much appreciate his work.

Greg did an amazing job! Wenjoy had to rearrange the time for our wedding and Greg made it and was able to perform wonderfully with the correct balance of seriousness and goofiness. Thanks Greg!

Rev. Greg was a perfect fit for our outdoor September wedding. He went above and beyond and did so much more than just 'officiant' duties. We pieced together our own unique ceremony and he went along with it smoothly and as planned, and even added his own quirks and humor. Not only did he provide an outstanding ceremony, our family members were impressed as well. He is very outgoing and made himself at home at our rehearsal dinner, talking and engaging with our friends and family. He even said grace at our rehearsal, and reception before dinner. He went absolutely above and beyond for us, and we would highly recommend him!!!

Greg showed up on time in the middle of the woods on very short notice! We emailed him a week and a half before the wedding and officiated at Hummel Park. His voice was commanding and caring. He went with the flow and helped in the ideas I wasn't sure on as far as the time line went. Also turned my paperwork in a timely matter. Thank you

Greg did an amazing ceremony for Aaron and I. I had no idea it would be that emotional. Everyone loved him and he was able to slide some humor in which fit Aaron and I well. I would recommend him to anyone I know. Thank you Greg!!!

My wife and I knew from the first response we got from Greg, that he was the one. He answered every question we had. Greg made it easy for us to relax and just enjoy the small things instead of stressing over the big things. Greg is well versed in everything Scottish as well as Celtic in general. For our ceremony, Greg performed flawlessly and even adlibbed a little to break up the stress, adding laughter to clear away some tears. We are forever indebted to Greg for the ministry he provided and his heart that he put into our service. We love you Greg, thank you again!!!

Greg was exactly what we were looking for. Something in between a courthouse marriage and a church. Our wedding occurred at a private residence and Greg didn't even shrug. We found him online, then met once before the date. Nicci was worried at first-since we found him onine-but I can assure you, I didn't have to bring my KaBar, and you wont either. Greg is an awesome individual who very apparently loves what he does. I am Irish, and we were planning on doing a few traditional things along those lines. Nicci got a Claddagh, and Greg completely understood what was going on. If you are Irish/Celtic Greg is the way to go. Even if you aren't, I will highly suggest him for any and all wedding services you may require. He was timely with mailing in the license so we might get our copy, and was very sociable with the family and friends. This is your man. Thank you Greg!, Shaun and Nichole Erickson

Greg was a perfect fit for our wedding ceremony. He was calm, personable, and communicated ideas and protocol in a very easy to understand way. We felt very comfortable in his presentation of our requests and the overall service. He was also very personable with our family and friends. We highly recommend Reverend Greg Lugn! Thank You!

Q&A

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet w/ the couple to get to know them a little & so they get to know me, while we discuss what their vision is for their ceremony. Together we work out what the ceremony will involve & be like. It's their service so I want it to reflect them & be what they want.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
MDiv. degree from Brite Divinity Sch. @ Texas Christian Univ. Ordination thru the Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ) Over 24yrs of pastoral ministry experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
No; I accept a donation in the amount the couple determine to be fair.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I felt myself being pulled toward ministry in high school.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Is there really a "common" wedding? No. Every one is different & special. I've done weddings in all kinds of locations, times of day, weather & circumstances. What IS common is helping 2 people express their love & commitment to each other. Whether they are large or small, formal or casual, that's what the weddings I do have in common.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Ask about the officiant's credentials. Where did they go to school, who are they affiliated with, what is their professional training. To be an ordained Disciples minister requires psychological testing, a 90hr master's degree w/ supervised internship, mentorship, letters of recommendation, & passing a review committee's interview. It is not easy. And because of that you can have confidence in an ordained Christian Church, (Disciples of Christ) minister.
