I found Demmons Electric on Thumbtack and they called me back immediately. Jake listened to what happened, understood it couldn't wait, and committed at 6:32 PM to coming out that night. Jake and Hunter both showed up and didn't leave until close to midnight, they inspected the whole system, made the damaged circuits safe, brought the load back up gradually while watching for problems, and tracked down a fault in our basement lighting circuit. They rigged a safe temporary fix so we had lights, then came back to do the permanent repair. A few things stood out: Documentation. This was an insurance claim, and their write-ups were thorough and accurate. That kind of detail matters when you're dealing with an adjuster. Fair pricing. Materials were billed fairly. The repair estimated 6 hours and came in at 6 hours. They didn't disrupt us. We both work from home. They pulled a new line to a bad switch and installed a whole-home surge protector without interrupting our workday once. Communication. They found our ceilings weren't mounted to strapping, which meant drilling many access holes to fish the new cable. They stopped, explained it, made sure I was okay with it, and minimized what I'd have to patch. That's on my builder, not them — and I appreciated being asked instead of them just proceeding.
