FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is not a fixed rate, but usually a range depending on what kind of tax or accounting work the client needs. Single, Head of Household (with children) range from $150 - $200. Married filing joint with children, W2 employer $200 - $225 Generally self-employed single entity tax returns are $250 - $350. Partnerships are priced according to # of partners. $500 - $700. S-Corp Corporations are priced according to size, and number of participants. Generally $500 -$800. C-Corp Corporations are priced usually at $600 -$1000. Trusts & Estates are priced depending on size. A sit down meeting would determine the fees.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Gather all their financial documents for the tax year. i.e Income W2's, 1099-Misc Income, Interest from Banks, Dividends paid to them, Mortgage and Real Estate Tax information, Charitable Donations, Health Insurance for them or their family, etc. Discuss with them any "life changing" events that may have happened that year. For example...getting married, having a baby, buying a new house, selling their old house etc. Review their documents, suggest any other documents they might need to determine whats the most advantageous way for them to file. We do a very in depth interview to find the most deductions and the least amount, if any tax debt they might owe. Typically a new client won't have everything they need to substantiate their income and deductions. I will ask a lot of questions of them and answer all of the ones they have.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. As a Tax Preparer I am required to take and pass 10 CPE's (Continued Professional Education) of Tax Law, 2 CPE's of Ethic's and 3 CPE's of Due Diligence Training each and every tax year. I am a licensed Enrolled Agent (EA) with permission to practice and represent clients before the IRS. This license is good in all 50 states.
