About
I am currently a professor of Statistics at Ramapo College, where I enjoy working with a diverse group of students to encourage their understanding of statistics both in their studies and the world around them. I completed my PhD in Psychometrics (statistical modeling for educational and psychological assessment) in 2015 from Fordham University, where I also served as a professor for both graduate and undergraduate statistics courses. While there I was awarded the Senior Teaching Fellowship, one of only three prestigious awards given to advanced graduate students.
Prior to my PhD work I served as a supervisor for Science, Social Studies, and Music in a suburban New Jersey school district. There I was able to observe and effect the teaching practices of 34 teachers under my advisement. I was also a chemistry teacher for 5 years prior to that, where I implemented innovative teaching practices, such as project-based learning and flipped classrooms.
My unique combination of education and work experience makes me a great asset to any student in need of assistance with their statistics, algebra, or chemistry studies. I have the content level knowledge and teaching experience needed to help students succeed in all levels of study.
Teaching really is my calling. I have worked in other capacities in education and academia, but I always long to return to my classroom. I bring that dedication to all my students.
