- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer to price jobs on a case by case basis. One demo job, clean up job, or carpentry job is not the same as the last. I prefer customers send me photos of the work area, the items in question, and send as many specific details along with the request as possible. This ensures the most accurate estimate from me the first time, and we can proceed with the work promptly. Almost every quote is flexible, if you receive a quote from me that doesn't fit into your budget, let's talk about... .I can likely work it out with you. I consider my prices to be extremely fair because of my willingness to work with a customer within their existing budget ... I would never tell you my prices are set in stone, I am always willing to work with you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I am contacted by a new customer, my first question is in regards to what services they're looking for. If it is one I can provide, we can discuss the project in further detail and I provide a quote for the labor and materials if needed. Once we agree on a quote for labor and materials, we schedule the date in which the work will be completed. I arrive to complete the work and if the new customers is not home / on site .. I keep the new customer updated via texts, emails or phone calls if the customer prefers. Once the project is completed, I will not expect payment until it is seen in person by the new customer and all needs are met, satisfied 100 percent. At that point, some customers prefer to pay me via paypal which works great for busy customers juggling lots of stuff on their own schedules.... and I also accept checks, money orders and cash in person as well. Afterwards I email the new customer a link to my Thumbtack account where they can choose to leave me a verified review if they're happy with the service I provided... and hopefully recommend me to someone else!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For Debris Removal, I work with facilities that are licensed to process the garbage safely and recycle what can be recycled before sending any of their trucks to the North East landfills. I utilize local transfer stations, some state run, some private that are all legally operating and watched closely by the Environmental Protection Agency. No matter what "junk" we take from your home, business or job site, we make sure it's handled correctly and doesn't end up buried in a ditch somewhere, or carelessly and illegally dumped on watershed property, or some other secluded part of the state. We always offer to provide receipts from every facility we use to dump the garbage and debris we haul for you as proof of it's legal and safe disposal. Over the past 15 years I have worked with lots of facilities in the Northern part of NJ to ensure no issues with the process in which we use to sort the junk or debris we haul away for you. There are several scrap metal yards in our area as well and anything that qualifies as recycleable once it is removed from your property or home all goes to one of these yards where it is re-used and kept from the landfills... we do this each and every time, regardless of the size or quantity of the items to be recycled. Anything metal, anything electronic, anything mechanical is almost always all sent straight to a scrap metal yard for recycling. Regarding training for landscape and construction work.... I offer handyman services based on my experience level from a decade or more of trade work I learned as a teenager. This includes general carpentry, demolition, landscape construction and maintenance, It is all on the job training, learned over years of real situations, real scenarios and real results working alongside real professionals who trained me for this type of work. My carpentry experience, specifically wood working has come from hands one experience as a young child being taught by my Grandfather.... later in years, as a teen, I was hired by local high end remodeling companies to work with them framing homes and trimming out kitchens and bathrooms... as time went on I got into more specific wood working on my own using reclaimed lumber, barn wood, old construction materials etc... My education comes from years, and years of doing it on my own, after learning from generations of craftsmen before me.... and combined with my own trials and errors. Today, I have a greater understanding than most traditionally trained people in the industry because of the time I spent completely immersed in real life situations, completing real life projects. My Audio / Video experience is all from the last 9 years of working on commercial installs in the tri-state area. I have the most experience working with 70 volt distributed audio systems but can install and service almost any AV components. I've worked with large LED and LCD displays for video walls and digital signage and our work can be found in almost any mall in the tri-state area. I can provide locations where our work is currently being displayed via video walls, or heard via audio installation. This is my primary line of work to date and I am often times still in the field servicing and over seeing installation of new equipment for countless franchises and small businesses as well as some large corporations. I have a fair amount of experience in small engine repairs, also self taught and I make my services available based on experience with specific engines or equipment in question. The majority of my experience is with chain saw repair and carburetor repair for lawn mowers and snow blowers etc. If you have a question about any power equipment you're having trouble with, I would be happy to try and answer it for you and discuss the most affordable repair options. All of my experience is from my own hands-on learning while working for other professionals over the many years before offering any services to other people. I try and update my profile regularly to reflect the work I have completed with verified reviews and photos from the various projects.... it's the best method I have as someone not traditionally trained in a vocational school or similar... and so please take the time to read the reviews and photos I add to get a good idea of what I can do for you and may be capable of based on whatever your specific needs happen to be.
