Sam is my go to guy for my residence and my business. I’ve had him perform preventative maintenance on my HVAC unit at my home and business. He also fixed my hot water heater at my residence quickly and efficiently. Most recently, he came to my business, on a moments notice and got on the roof, literally in the middle of a snow storm and restored heat to my business along with a new nest thermostat. If you want professionalism, knowledge and quality work, Advanced Heating and Air is where you’ll find it.

I’ve used ep210 for several jobs: conversion of oil heat to natural gas (including removal of a huge oil tank); installation of a high efficiency boiler; removal and replacement of 120 year old radiators; work on water and gas line repiping; and hot water heater replacement and installation. I’m very pleased to recommend them highly because they are honest, do great work, and do it at a great price. They are my go-to for all heating and cooling services.

Don replaced the drain pump in our washer machine as it was broke - washer wasn’t working - and had the parts and knew what he was doing . He also fixed the lid switch . He took a good amount of time to talk to Me on the phone explaining what he does and how he operates and estimate price . Excellent service , highly recommend him . Very friendly and pleasant to work with .

Benny at Subzero Cooling and Heating was great! After I moved into a new house without heat, the temperatures dropped to below freezing. He came out that day to give me a quote and was able start work the next morning after getting the supplies. A new heating unit and cooling condenser were installed within two days. The price was great and the work that was done is very clean and professional. Everything is operating smoothly.

Matt is a real find. I have a boiler that's over twenty years old. Contacted him to get a second opinion on an expensive estimate from another contractor who claimed the system was broken, and so glad I did. Instead of a new pump, all I needed was some water pressure and routine maintenance. He also identified some relatively minor repairs that I didn't know I needed. He provided an estimate and completed the project within hours of my approval for the work. His pricing is more than competitive, and his attention to detail spectacular - my boiler looks so shiny it's almost like it's new again. I will definitely be using his services again in the future.

Barci Plumbing and Heating were great. They responded very quickly to my post. Kevin was at the house within a couple of hours, not days. We had two water heaters supplying hot water to the house, but Kevin recommended a tankless system. I decided to go with the tankless system after some information. They crew was then able to change the whole system and remove the old tanks that day. They did an excellent job and the system works well. Kevin and his staff were quick, knowledgeable and appear to be very skilled at their craft. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them in the future.

George was great! I was without heat for the majority of past holiday weekend and he was able to sneak me in within an hour of my call to him! His pricing was more than reasonable and he was extremely professional, explaining everything to me every step of the way. He even wore boot covers every time he came into my house! In the end, I now have heat and George has a future customer!

I have nothing but good things to say about this company - they were efficient, prompt, professional and did the job right the first time. I have had many experiences with oil heat repair companies who will not service you if you do not have a maintenance plan (which generally works out to be a cleaning plus their visit fee), I appreciated that they didn't make me feel like a second rate customer and they came out promptly on the same day I called. They found my problem to be some type of circuit issue and so I had them clean the system and repair - which they could not complete on the same day - so they returned on the second day to finish and to my surprise - I did not get charged for their return. They have won my recommendation, I felt they were fair in their pricing, their techs were very kind and professional and I haven't had a problem since. Good Work Aire Serv!

Our entire company is excited to work in the temperature and air control business, and we look forward to serving you! Priority Rental focuses on 3 things: product, service and relationships. We focus on temporary portable temperature and air control. We carry various models of Spot Coolers, from 1.2 ton and 1.5 ton, that plug into a standard 120V outlet, to 25 tons and above. Remember, air conditioning also acts as a dehumidifier! Our temporary heat offerings include 40,000 BTU to 2.5 million BTU, electric, propane, natural gas, or diesel fired. We also provide negative air machines, dehumidifiers, industrial fans, misters, and evaporative coolers. Evaporative coolers, often referred to as swamp coolers, effectively and efficiently drop the temperature of an open space by up to 20 degrees by pulling the cool air out of water. These units can operate while connected to a water source or without a water source, as some have a built-in reservoir. They operate on 120V and cost very little to operate. These units work great at a warehouse, loading dock, outdoor event, or in a tent. They are not intended to "air condition," but they will drop the temperature by up to 25 degrees in just a few minutes. A great alternative to weekly or monthly rentals is Contracted Seasonal Service (CSS). This service allows you to select the size of an area to be controlled, and we will always keep enough specific equipment on hand for you and your company only. You do not need to take possession of the units, as we store the units for you. We promise to have this equipment available for the length of your CSS. We deliver to and pick up at the location you need them, and we will install if necessary. Our customers have found great success and value in this service. Contact us for more details. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    Who fixes furnaces?

If your furnace needs to be repaired, you’ll want to find a qualified heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) repair technician. Each state has its own licensing requirements; some require all HVAC technicians to have an HVAC license, while others only require someone operating an HVAC service and installation company with employees to hold a contractor’s license. For example, in Alabama, the Alabama Board of Heating Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Contractors regulates licensing, while in Kansas there is no state regulatory body and HVAC licensing can vary by region. For simple furnace repairs like changing out a filter, a trusted handyman can probably handle the job, but a trained professional should be hired for tasks like replacing a gas valve, installing a new inducer fan motor or other critical furnace repair jobs that involve dealing with gas leaks or other dangerous conditions. For more, check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

How much will it cost me to replace my furnace?

The national average for furnace replacement is between $1,800 and $2,500. The cost can range dramatically higher depending on the model of furnace you select, any repair work you require, your location and the cost of installation. Furnace installation costs can be more than the furnace itself due to the cost of doing business and the expertise needed to install the HVAC equipment. Installing a new furnace generally requires technical know-how and the proper tools and licensing. It’s best to hire a pro and budget for furnace installation rather than risk potentially unsafe DIY installation. This will ensure your home’s safety. Check to see if your HVAC contractor has the proper licensing to do the job. If you need duct repair or replacement, expect to pay more for your furnace installation costs. The price for duct repair could be an hourly rate ranging on average anywhere from $85 to $150 per hour, with additional costs for parts.

How much does it cost to have your furnace cleaned?

To keep your furnace in good working order it’s important to have it regularly cleaned. The national average furnace cleaning cost ranges from $60 to $80, though prices can vary greatly based on where you live in the country and what your furnace maintenance includes. An HVAC company may have different rates for different levels of furnace maintenance. For example, one company may offer general furnace maintenance for $79 and advanced maintenance for $138. Another company may offer a 38-point maintenance check for $89 and a 64-point maintenance check for $178. According to, a standard furnace cleaning and maintenance visit can include:

    • Checking the vent connection pipe and chimney
    • Checking the physical integrity of the heat exchanger
    • Adjusting the controls to provide optimum air temperatures
    • Checking the combustion chamber for cracks
    • Testing for carbon monoxide (CO)
    • Adjusting the blower control and supply-air temperature
    • Cleaning and oiling the blower
    • Removing soot and corrosion from the furnace
    • Checking the fuel input and flame characteristics
    • Sealing the connections between the furnace and the main ducts

How much does it cost to replace a gas furnace?

The cost to replace your gas furnace will vary based on the type and size of furnace you select, labor and installation costs, and any repairs your HVAC system may need. Nationally, average HVAC prices for a heating specialist range between $1,800 and $2,500. It’s important to select the right size gas furnace for your heating needs. A furnace that’s too small won’t heat your house properly, while a furnace that’s too large will run inefficiently, cycling on and off and likely breaking down sooner. HVAC specialists calculate your exact heat needs by measuring your home and incorporating variables such as the regional climate and your home’s level of insulation. Retail pricing for gas furnaces can range from $650 up to $3,000 and more. The higher the AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency) rating of the furnace, the more efficient it is at turning fuel into heat and the lower your carbon footprint and utility bill will be. HVAC installation costs are often based on an hourly rate and can range from under $50 to over $100 per hour, depending on the company and the furnace being installed. Higher-end furnaces cost more to install because they require added labor and expertise. For a typical installation, it might take two HVAC installation pros one day or less to remove your old furnace and replace it with a new one.

How much does it cost to have your furnace serviced?

When your furnace isn’t regularly serviced it can operate less efficiently. This increases your energy bills and also prevents your furnace from keeping your home as warm as you like. Keep your furnace properly maintained with regular service. The national average furnace service cost is between $60 and $80. Companies may offer tuneup specials that cover all the necessary testing, tightening, measuring and cleaning to keep your equipment running at top efficiency. If you have a newer system, furnace service costs may be covered by your warranty. Outside of warranty, a basic tuneup might start at $58 and a more advanced maintenance cleaning could be over $120. Here are some signs your furnace may need service:

    • The furnace has stopped functioning entirely.
    • The temperature cannot be regulated.
    • Rooms in the home are either too hot or too cold.
    • The heated air coming from the furnace smells like gas.
    • The thermostat isn’t working.
    • Strange noises are coming from the furnace.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
