I would highly recommend Arbor Tutors for any math tutoring you need. I cannot speak to any other subject but they did a terrific job tutoring math.
Are you looking for a math tutor who is well prepared for each lesson, who is a math genius, who is clearly passionate about teaching and who really cares whether his students are making progress? Well, you have found him in Aron G. from Spring Valley, NY! I was having difficulty with trigonometry. The support I was receiving in my private school was very limited, but I still wanted to take the Regent. I had moved several times during my elementary schooling and then skipped a grade, which didn't exactly help my math background. I had worked with several private tutors on trigonometry for months to prepare for the Regent. No improvement. In fact, I was feeling less and less confident that I would be able to master the subject. It seemed like I wasn't fitting into the cookie cutter. Then I started to work with Mr. G. At our first class, I couldn't believe how well prepared he was. He had written his own outline of the topic for our lesson. He provided a broad overview of the topic at hand, which made sense to me. He showed me some examples. Then he had me doing problems on my own--and I could! Working with Mr. G. for several weeks really made me feel like I would be able to pass the Regent. Mr. G. built on my strengths. But he also quickly identified my weaknesses. We zeroed in on gaps that I had in my mathematics background. It turns out that though I was missing some basics, I actually have somewhat of a facility for trigonometry. Once Mr. G. helped me to close the gaps and acquire the missing basics, I was able to do the trigonometry. Now I not only feel good about trigonometry, but I feel good about math in general. I am so happy and grateful to have found such a great tutor and great teacher in Aron G. from Spring Valley, NY.
We were having difficulty finding the right tutor for our son until we found Nick. His professionalism and knowledge are second to none. He went above and beyond for our son and made sure he learned essential SAT topics. He even rearranged his schedule to come on Saturday mornings. My son ended up scoring 230 points higher. Truly a wonderful tutor!
Even in a short period of time, I still got a lot of the tutoring sessions. Great at identifying the problem and getting to the root of it then helping to solve it. Overall pretty helpful.
Hallie just began tutoring my 22 year old son in college-level chemistry. They established a good connection and he feels she can help him to get through the year successfully.
Lori is tutoring our daughter for the ACT in June. We are lucky to have her. Lori is thorough, knowledgeable and patient. Our daughter's practice test scores are on the rise! We highly recommend her!
Andrew is a guy who took time to understand where my game stood. He came up with strategies to correct my technique. Furthermore, he encouraged me to ask questions for any confusion I had whether it’s related to technique or mental block. I was struggling with forehand where I would feel my self locked in delivering good strokes. I highly encourage people to take his couching classes to develop their game.
Jo exceeded all my expectations. Her knowledge , skill and expertise was apparent from the start. Without her contribution, I am certain we would of not of had gotten our project funded. Highly recommended.

I have been a teacher since 2004. In 2011 I began tutoring, and now I work exclusively as a history, reading, writing and ESL tutor. The majority of my students have been working with me for over 5 years, and it's been wonderful to see them grow as students and develop their abilities during this time. I work mostly online, but if you live in the Bronx area and prefer face-to-face, we could certainly try to organize something.
I am an Adelphi University graduate. My main focus of study was history, but I obtained great knowledge in a wide variety of subjects such as mathematics, English, American sign language, and music theory. I spent my years at Adelphi University on the dean's list as I remained very enthusiastic while learning many useful facts and life lessons. I plan to inspire students to reciprocate the enthusiasm I will have while teaching such intriguing information. I also have experience teaching history and American sign language while studying at Adelphi.
