I've been around a few NYC dance studios (BDC, Alvin Aileys, etc.) and private instructors so I feel confident in the following assessment of Dariusz. So far I've attended a few private salsa and hip hop dance lessons with Dariusz since this spring and found his style both enjoyable in terms of keeping the mood and feeling positive, while still providing solid technical and engaging feedback that would improve my dancing and general performance. Dariusz rises to the top as someone who puts more than the average amount of thought and preparation not only into his material, but how he delivers his message. His methods, presentation and information are all rock solid. His awareness of technical terminology, basic dynamics, combined with a desire for excellence means he creates lessons that are just challenging enough to help you create a solid foundation and to have fun in the meantime. Dariusz is one of the most well-trained, reliable, and most experienced salsa & hip hop instructors in the NYC Area. I recommend seeing him whether you are an absolute beginner, like me, or a competitive professional. Keep up the good work Dariusz! Best, SC.

I bought a package of 4 dance lessons as a birthday gift for my wife. Neither of us had much dancing experience, so we were looking for someone who is good with beginners. Arati is kind and friendly and very patient and I would highly recommend her for anyone, but particularly, and solely because this is the limit of my personal experience, for beginners. My wife and I were looking for an introduction in different steps, and Arati was able to teach us salsa and the waltz. She also offered to teach cha cha and bachata, and I imagine she knows additional styles as well. Overall a great experience with someone who was knowledgeable and able to put both my wife and I at ease as we tried something new.

Anna was perfect. I hired her for my wedding last night as a surprise to my husband . And one of our friend hired another belly dancer for us as a surprise so we had 2 different belly dancer and Anna danced second. So i was a little nervous cause I thought it might be a little to much and boring. But she made us to forget the first dancer. She was smiling all night long. Visited all tables and took care of everyone individually. I have no idea how she did it but end off the her dance all guests were on the dance floor and having fun. She is very beautiful and talented. Everyone loved her. Definitely recommend her. Thank you Anna

Irina is a true pro, we highly recommend her services! We signed up a few wks before our wedding date looking to learn more abt dancing as a couple, concentrating on Latin music. Irina is warm, patient, understanding and does a great job verbally, and of course physically, teaching the art of dance. She was impressively able to jump back and forth btwn teaching the male vs female roles in merengue, salsa, and bachata, so that my husband and I were able to equally learn and understand consistently throughout the process. Irina was always on time and disciplined with keeping her and our schedule on track. She was even awesome enough to let us bring our dog to lessons and would always kindly remember to bring treats for him. We were super grateful for Irina’s professionalism and will continue to work with her even after our wedding Bc the dance lessons are a great way to spend date nights!

Olga was awesome to work with - my husband and I wanted to get some lessons for our first dance at our wedding and we're SO happy we found her. She knew exactly what style to do once she heard our song, and choreographed the whole thing for us from start to finish. Within the first lesson, she knew exactly what she wanted to teach us and have us do. And to top it off, she was so fun to work with! I think she probably had us laughing more times than not throughout our lessons - we highly recommend her!!!!

I recently decided to take dance lessons for the first time. I was a bit nervous, as I'm a terrible dancer, however,  I wanted to at least try it once. My first lesson with Tonisha turned out to be so much fun, and I felt very comfortable! Tonisha has an amazing talent and is knowledgeable about dance, assesses your level quicky, and begins to teach you how to move so that you see improvement with your first lesson! The first night, she choreographed a dance routine that I was able to learn that night!  She has given me inspiration and confidence that I can actually do this! I would recommend  Tonisha to anyone who is trying for the first time or who is experienced, but wants to take it to the next level! ~ D

Both as a team and individually, Shimkiri and Werner really inspire me to become a better dancer, and I highly recommend their services for anyone looking to grow as a dancer or to start dancing! I began taking private Latin dance lessons with Shimkiri about two years ago. I was so impressed by her passion for dancing and her enthusiasm in sharing her talent with her students! She has a great way of staying patient as I learn new steps while still pushing and challenging me enough so that I would improve as a dancer. Later on as we began training for a competition and a showcase, her husband Werner began coaching me, too. Like Shimkiri, he was so eager to share his passion with me, and his instructions were so clear even with the more difficult steps. They are a wonderful couple, and I really encourage anyone looking for dance lessons to see that for themselves!

My daughter has great experiences working Brenda and loves to work with her! Brenda has been in ballet business for many years and has experiences. She can customize and indivisualize the lessons based on the level. My daughter has developed and refined many skills since working with Brenda. We highly recommend Brenda for ballet private lessons!!

Great Latin ballroom teacher. My style, grace and beautiful execution of feet and legs improved greatly under her coaching. If I still lived in NY I would be going to have lessons with her. She is very focused on improving her students dancing skills and making it a lot of fun in the process.

My fiancé and I had two private lessons with Carmen for our first dance. She was fantastic! Neither one of us is an experienced dancer and yet within a couple of sessions, we were able to do a short choreography and ran through the dance several of times to our chosen song. I thought it would not make a big difference to have a private room but turned out, it was! We were very productive. The two lessons went by quickly probably because we were so occupied by learning all the new steps. It was a delightful experience and we will come back for more lessons on social dance!

Andrianna was our dance instructor for salsa lessons and the hustle. She is a very patient person, especially when your husband had two left feet. When we decided to choreograph a dance for our wedding, she easily transitioned us into swing with a bit of hustle in the middle. It's great taking classes with her as she knows when to step in and take the lead, pretty much to quell any arguments. And her choreography was so fun! Resort said it was the best dance they'd seen! She was even there to rehearse with us. I cannot recommend her enough! Amazing ...

As a 58 year old woman I was amazed at how patient and full of enthusiasm Ernesto was teaching my group of family members to dance Latin dances for my daughter's wedding. He made the lesson so fun and got us all into it. The best of all was watching his moves...omg what a great dancer! Since I love to dance, I would love for him to take me out on the dance floor and lead me around at an event. You could not ask for a better dance instructor (and he is super handsome also!).

I've been taking dance lessons from Alexei for many years and find that each year gets more interesting in what I am able to achieve. He is the most patient, understanding and talented instructor I could hope to find. Although I don't take lessons from Lola, I can attest to her talent and patience also. Further, they are both genuinely interested in their students and the progress they make. I consider them super!

I had a short period of lessons from Eno, he was one of the best ballroom dance instructors I ever had. Picked up my weak points quickly and spent so much time to correct and answered all my endless questions till I was fully satisfied; hence, I didn't hesitate to ask anything I wondered and could talk openly, which is very important to build a good dancing relationship. By looking at his way to dance and teach, I thought he had danced almost 10 years but actually it was much less surprisingly. He must be so talented. I wish he were in my town, would highly recommend to all levels of dancers!!

Hi! I am more than willing to work with all ages and supply knowledge of various types of dances. Dancing is more than a hobby; it is art and takes a great deal of athleticism. However, dancing is fun, so everyone should enjoy dancing even if it is recreational. My pricing is reasonable, and I am willing to meet all your expectations. My bio is below. Angelica Lopez is a 17-year-old dancer from Queens, N.Y. She is a Hispanic of Colombian decent who started dancing since the age of three. At the age of seven, she started dancing at Broadway Dance Center’s children’s program and became the youngest to be accepted to their dance company (Arts in Motion). She has performed with the company in many popular venues, including The Macy’s Day Parade and Good Morning America. As a flamenco dancer, she has participated as a featured dancer in the Hispanic Day Parade in NYC. Angelica has been the recipient of many dance scholarships through The Pulse On Tour Dance Convention, including Protege, 2009-2013. She has also been awarded a fully paid scholarship by StageDoor Productions for their Broadway Dances workshop where a select few get to learn music and choreography from current Broadway actors. She has appeared on BET's 106 and park on several occasions including once as a featured performer for Willow Smith. She was hired by Microsoft to take part in a massive launch for the XBox Kinect game in Times Square dancing with Ne-yo. In 2011, Angelica played dancing Dora in the animated movie for Nickelodeon, called Dora and the Explorer girls, starring Shakira and choreographed by Luis Salgado. She danced in the half-time show at the Miami Dolphins game with Enrique Iglesias. She also took part in Beyonce’s/Mrs. Obama’s campaign called “Let’s Move.” She was also chosen to take part in the instructional portion of the video. Angelica also took part in the commercial for Google Chrome featuring Lady Gaga. She appeared in an episode of Are We There Yet? TV series and recently took part of a PSA campaign calling for world peace. She is part of "Ashle Dawson's Latin Fusion Dance Company". Most recently, Angelica was hired by Hasbro Toy Company for a commercial of one of their most popular toys, "Britney Spears' Twister Dance Rave." How much do dance lessons cost?

Adults who want to learn to dance, whether to prepare for a wedding or to meet new people, often enjoy taking dance lessons from an experienced dance instructor. Instructors may offer classes one-on-one to individual students or couples, or to small groups. The national average cost for a dance instructor ranges from $30 to $50. Some studios offer a discounted introductory lessons or group lessons, as well as package deals that are more affordable than paying for individual lessons. Some dance instructors will travel to the student’s home, which usually costs more, while others hold small-group sessions in their studios.
