FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $175/hour for design. (Usually my clients buy 5-10 hour blocks.) If you need over 8+ hours, my hourly drops to $150/hour. I also can devise a flat fee for multiple rooms, whether it's design/build, furnishings or both. These depend on scope of work and square foot. This is usually if you want me to take the project from A to Z, concept to completion and styling. It can range from $500-$10k+ depending on depth of project. For larger residential, commercial projects or new construction layouts I will charge by square foot, and that ranges from $6-12/square foot.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love to have an initial phone consult to hear about the work desired and if we are a good fit for each other. This is more or less an intake phase to establish my client's lifestyle needs, budget, and practical goals. If it's a good fit, I usually follow that with a conceptual phase where I create what I've coined- a "Design Map" or mood board and/or initial space planning and visual direction. If needed, I can refine the plans into 3D renderings (which I charge $250/each rendering for) and material specifications and technical plans for contractors. If we are taking the project from A to Z, concept to completion, I can procure furniture and other furnishings and see the project to it's finality, adding styling as a final touch.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in Graphic Design from The College of New Jersey and Textile studies from Parsons, The New School. More importantly though is over 20+ years of professional design experience working for some of the best brands/companies out there: Kelly Wearstler, Michael Kors, Himatsingka America, Condé Nast, Artistic Tile.
