Mr. Cho provided exceptional and personalized service to my case. He was very assertive and precise with his approach. He has a wealth of knowledge which is applied strategically to each case. Personally I was very pleased with his approach, it made me comfortable. He was always on top of things and kept me updated with the progress. Although, there was a minor hiccup in between my petition - no fault of Mr. Cho. He was still able to produce maximum results in a timely manner. Mr. Cho is the perfect attorney for your immigration case. You will not be disappointed.

I rate the experience as Great. It was a pleasant experience. I felt like Attorney Relis understood the seriousness of the matter and treated it as such. I felt like you truly cared about the case and that you took the best approach along with the investigation that you did to provide the best possible advice. Even after she fulfilled her agreement she took time to reach out again to reiterate what she has instructed to ensure I understood and also to give some uplifting words as she knew my family and I were going through a tough time. Thanks again Attorney Relis!!! I would recommend RelisLaw to anyone with immigration issues.

Mr. Zachary Meyer Esq. is by far the most attentive, reliable, and trustworthy attorney I've had the pleasure of working with. He effectively negotiated my landlord-tenant occupancy dispute to relieve me from the stress of the situation. This case was particularly complicated as it involved a big management company that outright deprived me of my civil rights with no concern at all for the potential legal consequences of their actions since they had abundant resources and lawyers to drag on the case for however long they wanted and used them to harass and bully me. Zachary was responsive to my questions, concerns, and took the time to understand the complex nuances of the situation, allowing me to be completely comfortable knowing that he was addressing the issues and representing my point of view accurately and with authority. In addition to his exceptional legal practice, he is simply a good human being and a pleasure to speak with, the most important qualities that I would want in my attorney. He is definitely a rarity in his field and the one you would want to hire! Thanks again for everything!

Mr. Wynn is one of the the nicest and sincere lawyers you would ever come across. From the very first minute we came to his office, he was so accommodating. He made sure we are very comfortable with the whole process of applications. My wife and I were filing for my Adjustment of Status and we had been looking for a good attorney who would make the process fast and flawless. That's exactly what we got working with Mr. Wynn. His office staff is equally experienced and nice. They handled our case so well and swiftly that we could not believe. He also took a personal interest in my case and he is always around to respond back to emails and phone calls. He follows up so well that we were totally amazed and carefree. I would highly recommend Mr. Wynn for anyone who needs quality advise and personal attention.

Me and my fiancé's journey towards getting my fiancé visa was not an easy venture. We faced a lot of challenges, bumps along the road and detours along the way. We surely needed help and with the referral from my friend whom Atty. Ken has also handled their case and helped them get their visa, we were able to get Atty. Ken as our immigration lawyer and after that, everything fell into place. And this is our story.... Me and my fiancé (Who is my husband now by the way) were College sweethearts. We were already at the 7th year of our relationship when my fiancé got his US citizenship and at last was able to sponsor me for fiancé visa. So we hired an immigration lawyer to guide us appropriately in our processing (Note: It was a different lawyer because at that time, we didn't know about Atty. Ken yet). What I felt not right with our previous lawyer was that during our preparation for filing and throughout the processing, everything felt vague. Instructions were not as clear and we were not systematically told what to expect and so I have to search and read about the visa processing to make sure everything is set. I had my doubts when we sent our application because I know that one of the requirements was to see your fiancé within 2 yrs and me and my fiancé have not yet seen each other for 2 yrs and 6 months but the lawyer said it was okay since my fiancé will be visiting me in the Philippines by October 2015 and we sent and filed our application by September 2015. Well, it turned out to be a bad move and seven months later, by April 2016, my fiancé received a letter from the USCIS that said our application has been denied. Our previous lawyer wasn't able to help us at all. Time, effort and money wasted. But as the saying goes, there's light at the end of the tunnel and fortunately, we found ours not too long from the day we heard the bad news. My friend told me about their lawyer and how great he is and very systematic and organized in handling their visa application. His name was ATTY. KEN GARCIA. My friend gave us his email address and so we contacted him and my fiancé went to his office. Atty. Ken was very accommodating and kind, you can easily talk to him and feel at ease. We told him about our situation and we asked if what are the steps we can do to remedy the problem and Atty. Ken gave us concise options and systematic steps to follow. What I liked about Atty. Ken was that he is very clear with his instructions- neatly and systematically laid out for us to comprehend easily. We can contact him anytime whenever we have questions and he responds in a timely manner which is very convenient for me since we have different time zones - I'm in the Philippines at that time and he's in the US and we communicate through email. With my Fiancé visa, it only took 4 months to process everything, we submitted our application by June and by August, thanks to Atty. Ken who was meticulous with ensuring that all our documents are complete and appropriate, our petition was approved. After that, he gave me a step-by-step process on what to do and what to expect with the next steps to take during my medical exam and embassy interview. By October, I was approved and good to go! Yes, it was an ecstatic feeling! Me and my fiancé imagined that happening so many times before but could not actually believe that it was actually happening at the moment, it all felt like a dream. A dream come true, indeed! By December 2016, I arrived here in the US and got married to my fiancé. By February 2017, we were able to submit the documents for my permanent resident application. Big thanks to Atty. Ken who have always given us convenience when it comes to handling our paperworks. He prepares everything, he gives us questionnaires thru email ahead of time that we need to answer and then he sends us the already filled out documents and all we need to do is check if all the details are exact and correct and sign it. And once everything is set, he mails our documents and informs us every now and then for any updates. By May, I received my Working permit and we (me and my husband) were surprised that by August I received my greencard! In just 6 months, I became a permanent resident here in the US. It was such a very happy moment for us. We were not expecting it since we were waiting for my interview for my permanent resident application but it seems that Atty. Ken really did a great job in helping us prepare all the needed documents to submit that was very satisfactory that I didn't undergo an interview anymore. I am very thankful that Atty. Ken has been our lawyer. Since day 1, he has been with us, guiding us all throughout the way from my Fiancé visa application until I got here in the US and also with my greencard application and now I am a US permanent resident. Kudos to Atty. Ken! - April and Ken

The Bellantoni Law Firm, PLLC is currently representing me in an Article 78 proceeding against a municipality for what I believe was an improper layoff. Specifically, Amy Bellantoni is my attorney in this matter. At a time when I was completely distraught and defenseless, I had the good fortune of consulting with Ms. Bellantoni. I knew from the very first moment I met Ms. Bellantoni, and told her my story, that this was the attorney I wanted to represent me. There are so many qualities that define Ms. Bellantoni not only as an attorney, but also as a real person who listens and cares. Ms. Bellantoni pays attention to what I have to say. I never feel rushed or that what I am saying is unimportant. Ms. Bellantoni makes herself available to me and continually addresses my questions and concerns with clear, concise and informative responses. Ms. Bellantoni is smart, confident and determined to win my case because she truly believes that I was not treated fairly. What I appreciate most about Ms. Bellantoni is that she channels all of my emotions into her own work. I am allowed to partake in the process and provide my input. Ms. Bellantoni takes my beliefs and my emotions and transforms them into strong legal arguments for the Court to review. It allows me, the client, to have a say in the matter and that is so important to me. Amy Bellantoni is a true Professional and handles herself with class. I am proud that Ms. Bellantoni represents me. I strongly recommend that anyone in need of an attorney contact Amy Bellantoni at The Bellantoni Law Firm, PLLC.

I had a visitation case that Pashan helped me with. He asked a lot of good questions to gain a good knowledge of my situation. He went out of his way to meet up with me to discuss everything after office hours because I had a crazy work schedule. He was always easy to reach from his cellphone and answered all my questions and concerns. My case was In the Bronx, so he was willing to travel and had arrived earlier than I did to assure that we were seen right away. He was very professional and represented me very well. I am completely satisfied with the outcome, and may I add that I consulted with several family law lawyers before meeting Pashan and his rates were the best.

It would be a lot of writing here to express how wonderful it has been to work with an attorney who encompasses so much knowledge and confidence as Leah E. Capese, Esq., However, above and beyond all of the qualities highlighted above only introduce Ms. Capese. She possesses a very special quality of in-site and compassion for her clients. Her dedication, ethics, and individualized attention to each entity in resolving all of the issues at hand are absolutely amazing. Ms. Capese so graciously accepts the hard work and the burdens she may face with each client in order to accomplish her goal which gave me a very personal relief from all of the stress and I confidently knew my case was in good hands. These qualities of honesty, compassion, responsiveness, values, professionalism only exemplify her vast knowledge of law. One of the best choices I have ever made.

I needed consulting on a civil appeals after my previous attorney flaked on me. Yelena came through and treated me first class. She returned every email and call and walked me through every step explaining it so simple and to the point I felt like I went through law school prior to meeting her. She's very smart and has a good heart. I would recommend her to everyone who needs help with the law.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you find a good real estate lawyer?

If buying or selling property feels overwhelming and the thought of finding a good real estate lawyer seems daunting, you’re in luck. There are some simple steps to follow for finding a trustworthy, affordable real estate lawyer to help with your property and legal needs.

      • Determine what kind of real estate lawyer you need. Many states require a real estate attorney to handle sale closing documents. For more complex matters such as a real estate deal gone awry or foreclosure, you’ll want to find an attorney who has successfully handled cases like yours.
      • Look for online reviews of real estate lawyers in your area. Verify that they have proven experience closing or winning cases like yours and that they are in good standing with the state bar association.
      • Choose two or three lawyers to interview. Many offer a free consultation to learn about your case and provide information about rates. For standard real estate closing services, in-depth interviewing might not be necessary.
      • Ask about their rates and whether they charge by the hour or provide services for a flat fee. Ask whether a retainer is required, and what the total bill should be for a case like yours.
      • Ask for a write-up of the services that will be covered by the projected costs.
      • Make sure you like the real estate agent and they treat you with respect. Confirm whether they or another person will be working on your case and make sure you’re comfortable with all members of their team.
      • Pay the retainer and hire your lawyer.

What does an immigration attorney do?

Immigration lawyers help their clients through all phases of the immigration process. Experts on immigration law, they are legally qualified to represent U.S. citizens, permanent residents or undocumented immigrants. Immigration lawyers also provide assistance to visitors here on student, work or travel visas, and can represent clients who may have an expired visa or who have overstayed their visa.

You can hire an immigration lawyer to assist you with petitioning for renewing a permanent resident or green card, navigating the naturalization process, submitting an employee-based petition for a work visa, filing a petition for a family member, or representing you or a loved one who is facing detention or deportation, as well as replacing, extending or changing a current visa, green card or work permit. The immigration process is highly complex, with multiple hearings, paperwork and requirements. Hiring a legal expert to represent you can help you make your best effort in the process. When researching immigration lawyers, it is very important to verify their qualifications and find a reputable attorney. Read reviews and verify that the immigration lawyer is licensed by your state before paying any fees.

What is a personal injury lawyer?

A personal injury lawyer fights on your behalf if you’ve been injured physically, psychologically, economically or in reputation. This injury may be the result of neglect or malicious intent of another person, or it could be at the hands of a business, government or other entity. Personal injury lawyers specialize in tort law, which is the law of civil wrongs like car accidents, company wrongdoing, unlawful imprisonment and more.

To become qualified to be a personal injury lawyer in the United States, a person must earn a bachelor’s degree, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from a law school. Most states then require the person to pass the bar exam to become licensed to practice law. Unlike many attorneys who require a retainer, personal injury lawyers often work on contingency fees. This means that in lieu of payment upfront, they receive an agreed-upon percentage of the settlement in case of a win.

What does a real estate lawyer do?

A real estate lawyer represents their client’s best interest in all matters related to the sale, purchase and ownership of real estate. They are experts in real estate law. In states that require a real estate lawyer to close home sales, the lawyer must review and finalize all documents before the deal can be legally completed. Real estate lawyers also help clients legally protect their rights when entering, exiting or renegotiating a real estate deal. You can hire a real estate lawyer as an individual or as a business. A real estate lawyer can help with negotiation, addressing mortgage fraud, managing foreclosures and bankruptcy, transfers of titles and deeds, property ownership disputes, zoning issues, creating a co-ownership contract for joint purchase of a property, and much more. Real estate lawyers can also protect you from issues that result when a known problem was not properly disclosed by the previous owner. Overall, real estate lawyers are an added cost when it comes to buying and selling property, but they also ensure your best interests are met, and that you and the people you are doing business with comply with the law.

What kind of lawyer does wills?

No one likes talking about death, but it’s better than leaving your children or siblings to sort out your estate. A clearly planned will can make the time of mourning easier for everyone. An estate attorney will develop a legal will, create trusts on your behalf, and ensure the proper execution of your estate after you pass away.

Family attorneys and estate attorneys, also called probate and wills attorneys, can each prepare wills. The type of lawyer best suited to prepare your will depends on your situation. Most family attorneys provide services to prepare basic wills, including bequeathing property and personal items to family or naming a guardian for minor children. However, estate attorneys specialize in preparing wills in more complex situations. Consider hiring an estate attorney if you:

      • Have a large number of assets, especially those subject to estate taxes
      • Want to create a trust, such as allowing a spouse to live in your home until he or she dies and then leaving it to your children, or set up long-term care for a beneficiary
      • Have an ownership stake in a business
      • Expect someone to contest your will
      • Want to disinherit your spouse
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
