FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing is straightforward and transparent. For many projects I bill at $63 per hour, and I offer discounted rates for larger jobs that exceed about 20 hours of work. For customers who prefer to know the full cost in advance, I’m also happy to provide a flat-rate quote after seeing the space in person and understanding the scope of the project. The final price depends on a few factors, such as the size of the area, the amount of preparation required, how much furniture or belongings need to be moved or protected, and the level of detail involved (for example, accent walls or tight areas that require careful cutting in). Proper preparation takes time but makes a big difference in the final result, so I always include that in my estimates. My goal is to be fair, clear, and realistic about both time and cost so there are no surprises, and so the customer gets a high-quality, professional finish.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is straightforward and professional. First, I talk with the customer about what they want to accomplish and the condition of the space, either through photos or an in-person visit. I then provide a clear estimate and timeline so there are no surprises. Before painting, I take time to properly prepare the area—moving and protecting furniture, using cloth drop cloths, taping trim, and making sure surfaces are ready so the finish comes out clean and even. I use professional tools, high-quality rollers, and the right brushes for each part of the job to get the best result. During the project, I keep the work area neat and communicate with the customer so they always know what’s happening. When the job is finished, I do a walkthrough to make sure everything looks great and that the customer is completely satisfied.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art, which trained me in color theory, surface preparation, precision, and attention to detail—skills that translate directly into high-quality interior painting. In addition to my formal education, I have over 30 years of hands-on experience painting homes and working on residential projects. Over the years I’ve developed efficient prep techniques, learned which tools and materials produce the best results, and built a reputation for careful, clean work and reliable service.
