- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for an experienced broker. Many brokers work part time or dabble in real estate. Part-time work does not provide the kind of experience needed to get job done when the going gets rough. In New Mexico we have many properties that need surveys and other title work before they are sale-ready. Many properties do not comply with modern zone codes. Your broker needs to be conversant, better yet expert, in dealing surveys, code issues, title insurance, home inspection, marketing, insurance, contracts, negotiations, administration, human relations and more to make your deal work. Your broker should not fluster easily.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I wish customers knew that almost anyone that can read can get a real estate broker's license. A real estate broker needs 90 hours of class time to qualify for a license. 1,300 hours are needed to get a barber's license. I have good reason to trust my barber...
