- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's pretty simple and mostly based upon square footage. The age of the house and its systems and components are also factors. Crawlspaces carry surcharge because of consumables (filters and body covers). Environmental testing prices are fixed and mold testing prices are lower than the specialists in the area.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As an ASHI Member I must have 20 hours per year continuing education to stay in good standing. Technologies are constantly changing and improving, and there is always something to learn. Staying in place is staying behind!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask questions (no matter how "dumb" they may seem to you), get referrals and ask for credentials and experience. See sample reports. Determine how you feel about the service provider. Avoid scare tactics and attempts to baffle you.
